Oh, I see now. Hmm, the bubble teas I get usually aren't cold enough to "freeze" the pearls like that. Or maybe I slurp them down too fast!

I've been on a torta kick lately. My favorite is called La Commadre: torta bread lightly toasted, spread w/refried beans, some jalapeno slices, ham, chorizo, queso, lettuce, tomato, Mexican crema.

Washed down with some agua de jamaica or agua de meln. DELICIOUS

One of my favorite beach/poolside lunches is a grilled fish burger.

Otherwise, I love club sandwiches. In my experience the best hotel club sandwich in Tokyo is at the Mandarin Oriental.

Cuban Sandwich

I spent six years in TPA, the home of the Cuban sandwich, but the best one I've ever had is at a place called Jefferson Tap & Grill here in Chicago. A-ma-zing.

It's tough to find a great lobster roll in Southern California. The best I have yet to find is at The Hungry Cat. Lots of lobster, not loaded with mayo, good bread.

A good fish burger is where its at.. I often opt for McDonalds Fish Filet or BK Big Fish instead of a burger. Hard to know where in Calgary to get a great fish burger.

Seems I have more luck down in the states around coastal areas getting a nice customized fish burger with lots of tartar sauce. Whats best is if there is lettuce and tomato on the fish burgers.

Not quite the same thing but when I go to the NC Coast I'll get a shrimp burger which is fried shrimp with toppings on a bun. Mmm.

I loved getting to Tampa as I could always grab some good cuban sandwiches, thanks for the tip on Jeffereson Tap in Chicago, I'll give them a try.

is it ground tuna or a whole piece of fish?

For those in Chicagoland, Portillo's serves a very good grilled tuna sandwich:
Grilled Tuna Sandwich
$4.19
Grilled yellow-fin tuna filet with lettuce, tomato, sliced red onion, and our homemade tartar sauce on a toasted bun. Locations: www.portillos.com/portillos/locations

One of my favorite guilty pleasures is a fried grouper sandwich from Frenchie's in Clearwater Beach, FL. I go there whenever I'm in the Tampa area.
