Midnight - pumpkin hummus and crackers. Very good pumpkin hummus.
I’m next getting kettle chips
maybe a bowl of fruit loops.

I guess you decided to finish the cookie!

The pumpkin pie hummus really tastes like pumpkin pie. It has chickpeas. So whacky.

I am going to have to try that as I LOVE pumpkin pie. Funny that it is called a dessert hummus...maybe lots of sugar in it?

it tastes like pumpkin pie so I assume sugar and cinnamon and boars head chemicals :-)
it sounds disturbing and it’s good when not sober. I’ll report back on it when I am sober and I eat it. I’m mostly sober. I think I woke this morning not fully sober. That’s a powerful $2 worth of effects!!

Romaine with slivered almonds, cilantro and sesame dressing
baby potatoes roasted greek style (olive oil, lemon, kalamata olives, red onion, garlic, oregano & dill) topped with feta
grilled halibut with basil/cilantro butter
The Palm rose.

did I mention about finding and fetching fresca at a target? I’ve shared your insights about coke not being able to produce the fresca and people know that this is info from “teddy bear on flyertalk” even though your real name is teddybear99!!

Glad you were able to find Fresca, but as I said before, to me the taste has changed since I used to drink it in the 70's as it was my grandfather's favorite drink. It was readily available as he would take care of my brother and me after school until my parents came home. The change of taste could be that instead of using real sugar to sweeten the soda, they now use high fructose corn syrup as it is cheaper to do so. I also believe high fructose corn syrup is why we have way more diabetics in this country than back then as our bodies don't process it very well. I will drink sodas made using real sugar when I can get them, which is very rarely during this pandemic.

Actually that is not my name, but my handle. My wife calls me her big teddy bear as we love to cuddle. My usual handle was taken by someone when I joined Flyertalk, so I use this as my secondary handle on websites, blogs and boards like this.

Always bring it to their attention, otherwise how can they fix it? No need to be mean, just say it was too salty. Personally, I’d mix in some bottled sauce that wasn’t salty to “even” the salt level out.

I’ve run into problems with my wife’s cooking with similar things. You don’t want go criticize, but you don’t want them to waste their effort on something that’s not right.

I wonder if adding the salty beef to a neutral starch or vegetable (eg rice, bok choy, sautéed cabbage, etc) could help make the beef more edible to enjoy.

For those who haven't eaten Filipino food, it tends to either be salty or sweet. Some things I like that way as mentioned before the sweet sauce of spaghetti Filipino style. The beef was mixed with sliced onions which were sautéed, but not very soft. I don't like onions that much so I only had a few pieces of the beef. My wife suggested to rinse the beef to get rid of some of the saltiness, but being the cook I am, it would not have helped.

I do like how you like to make up different funny names for some of the foods you are now making for your family based on recipes or ideas here.

I assumed Jarritos and Mexico Coke were made with cane sugar. I don’t know for sure but I enjoy those sodas. I don’t drink soda often but it’s a joy to drink when i have them.

You've probably seen chocolate hummus in the store too. I can not and will not bring myself to ever buy either of these. If I'm going to have dessert, then I'll have it, not some weird mash up. Not judging anyone else, but I just find it all weird.

I just refuse to eat hummus.

But it's delish! And a great dip for pita chips or carrots. I do love me some garlic or lemon hummus. Though every time I have it I have a flashback to college when a friend was talking about his roommate's hummus and said "it smells like feet."

In any case, last night I made a Green Chef - we had blackened tilapia tacos with slaw and cumin-scented rice. It was good.

I love garlic hummus. Besides dipping, it makes a great condiment on a sandwich too. I'll toast some bread or baguette and spread it on while it's warm. Then pile on turkey, chicken, or even beef, and a bunch of vegetables. I've also made a veggie and cheese sub with it as a spread (thickly applied here) and it's one of the best subs I've had. Nice change or pace to mustard, mayo, and the other standard stuff.

I assume olive hummus or some other flavor would work well too, but as Homer would say, mmmmmm...garlic.

It just seems so weird.

I had quesadillas last night. Tonight's dinner is probably going to be BBQ of some sort.

Soft drinks in most countries outside the US are made with cane sugar. Mostly, you can only find it here as a special edition drink, or a religious holiday version. Or at your favorite Mexican restaurant for $2 or so a bottle.

Costco in my location sells it by the case. I do enjoy the real sugar versions more, but kind of hate to toss or recycle the glass bottles. Seems like such a waste.
