You've probably seen chocolate hummus in the store too. I can not and will not bring myself to ever buy either of these. If I'm going to have dessert, then I'll have it, not some weird mash up. Not judging anyone else, but I just find it all weird.

Although I am going to make a low carb crustless pumpkin pie today (thanks to reading about this "weird mash up" :D). LIke Corky, I do love pumpkin pie. :)

ive not seen chocolate hummus but I think there’s a difference between chocolate and pumpkin. We can eat chocolate on its own. It’s less fun to eat pumpkin or squash on its own and it’s better when cooked or blended with other things.

But it's delish! And a great dip for pita chips or carrots...

Is it a shock that a person who despises avocados and children also dislikes hummus?

Does it have sugar or a sugar sub?

I'm still firmly against any kind of dessert hummus. Not judging anyone else, but it won't enter my house.
If there was cooked pumpkin blended in, without all the spices and sugar, then it's just hummus with squash. I could probably live with that. But not pumpkin pie.

I couldn’t tell because it all looked like a language I don’t comprehend

The thought of pumpkin pie hummus made me gag a little bit. Then, I Googled it. Apparently it's a thing.

At any rate, I'm using pumpkin. Pumpkin pie mix has a lot of sugar in it and therefore wouldn't be low carb.

What do you use to sweeten your canned pumpkin in order to make a pie if not brown sugar? I assumed that you were not using pumpkin pie mix because it looks like you make things from scratch.

Splenda. I'll let you know how it turns out.

it didn’t taste as bad as it sounds, when not sober. If I eat it while sober, I’ll report.

hmmm. yes do report. I know the point of sugar in baked goods is not just to sweeten but also to add moisture. I assume this is special splenda for baking so it doesn't give a weird taste when heated.
