Antipasti while cooking followed by a low(er) carb beef burgundy with cauliflower mash on the side.
Could totally go for the crust less pumpkin pie mentioned by iluvparis above, but will need to settle for a piece of dark chocolate instead. |
Didn't prepare this myself (apart from calling in the order) but delicious Steamer platter at the Outer Banks last week. Scallops, shrimp, lobster, snow crab, corn, hushpuppies, potatoes, onions and cornbread (not pictured). Hard to beat a feast like this -- at least if I'm grounded, it's nice to explore some areas of the NC coast I've never visited (and appreciate that NC has beautiful beaches and delicious seafood within 3-4 hours of the RDU area).

I did a rare takeout dinner...Amex promo for supporting small businesses....Local Mexican small chain that I have been going to for over 20 years. Home made chips and salsa, Carnitas with rice and beans and flour tortillas and guac and pico de gallo. And a Blue Moon. I am in hog heaven.

To continue the theme, made tacos and refried beans for the first time tonight in a long time.
Only annoyance was that every one of the taco shells (I was too lazy to make my own and didn't want to smell up the house with frying) in the box was broken. Thus the tacos became chalupas Enough leftovers to make nachos |

hmmm. yes do report. I know the point of sugar in baked goods is not just to sweeten but also to add moisture. I assume this is special splenda for baking so it doesn't give a weird taste when heated.

I also belatedly realized that I had no corn or flour tortillas in the house. I was ill-prepared :D
Yes, a good corn tortilla is a thing of beauty :) But I was also wanting "crunch" Flour and corn tortillas are now on the grocery list! |

we love tacos both hard and soft. We have hard corn shells, plus soft corn and soft flour tortillas. All yummy.

ive never fried a corn tortilla so don’t know how intense the scent would be. |
