ive never fried a corn tortilla so don’t know how intense the scent would be.

i always have windows open and ceiling fan going....odors stay in my house. I fried fish a couple days ago and still get a bit of a whiff. Most things...not just tortillas ...leave an odor. It isn't a bad one...it just is there and frying is messy.

Ugh, I love fried fish and a good tartar sauce, but the smell doesn't go away fully until you find and eradicate every last drop of oil that escaped. You made me want fish and chips now, but not sure that's going to happen this week.

salad with little gem lettuce, dried hatch chilis, slivered almonds, dried cranberries with Trader Joe champagne pear vinagrette
new recipe from the NYT---crispy brussels sprouts and crispy gnocchi with brown butter. I added a little bacon & called it dinner.

My wife made some beef and broccoli that I’m going to chow down on soon. Looks pretty good.

Beef and broccoli looks great!

I am pondering what to make for dinner tonight...probably our last Green Chef, a couscous bowl with feta and veggies.

Broiled steak
“patty melt” with sharp cheddar on toasted sourdough
oven steak fries
baked potato
roasted carrots / Brussels sprouts / zucchini
roasted beets
sauteed onions

some of this will make great leftovers for Tuesday :-)

How was it? I saw that one and it looked good. Worth making?

yeah it was good flavor but not great. I definitely liked that i added bacon. Maybe would use more lemon zest and would add garlic. I used about half the amount of butter. Trader Joe potato gnocchi . I think the dish could have used something liquid like a sauce.

I made a pea soup last night. It was ridiculously simple, just leeks, onions, chicken stock and peas. Tasted really good. I'll probably do it again.

I just let the leeks and onion sit in some butter in the pot just to get tender, not to brown. Then I added the chicken stock and brought to the boil. Once boiling I added the peas and simmered for about 4 minutes. Then in went the immersion blender to mix it all up. The whole thing took about 15 minutes from start to finish (including cutting the onion and leeks!).

Frozen. If I'm being honest, when it comes to peas frozen > fresh 99% of the time, imo.
