I asked how often they ever suggested more sodium for their patients and they said "uhm, well.....almost never". After increasing the sodium, not only does my food taste better, but the nighttime leg cramps have gone away.

LOL, at least they did recommend adding sodium!

The other mom was very thankful for us having sour cream because I guess the pico de Gallo was even spicier than expected lol

i really should have cut my burrito in half before eating it. Omg.

I don't usually make guac as i tend not to have guests over (everyone's busy so not as much time to cook so we go out to restaurants...at least in the before times)... but I occasionally make nachos to snack on while working (especially when I know I'm going to be sitting on a conference call for a few hours)... layered chips/cheese topped with meat if I have time to brown it. Salsa/sour cream on the side... lately though, I've been making my own dipping "tray" and warming pitas as time permits. The dips are getting a workout...

I'm making what is called "crack chicken" tonight.

gaobest Oct 2, 2021 1:06 pm

I only started to make guacamole at home in 2020 thanks to this thread, so it’ll probably be 24 years before it becomes boring for me. I live an extremely simple and simple-minded lifestyle.

oops it’s starting to oxidize so I wrapped them. I prepped an hour ago because I didn’t actually know their eta and these are potential future in-laws.

I thought your child was a pre-teen, kind of young for a prearranged marriage? :D

gaobest Oct 2, 2021 10:13 pm

eric’s chinese, San Francisco ca - carryout

veggie egg rolls
onion pancakes (deep fried)

white rice
shanghai chicken with Green flakes like Bonito
Veggie moo shoo with pancake and hoisin sauce
mongolian beef
beijing noodle soup

I’ll have nice leftovers for this week except when I have luncheon with my bestie. I’ll have to go to Safeway to buy bok choy & cabbage to offset these leftovers. I can reheat the Mongolian beef with tofu to make a pseudo version of beef with bean cake, a dish I’ve enjoyed from Chinese restaurants for decades albeit without the brown bean sauce

also made pancakes for my child’s supper. I’m now convinced that I’ve never cooked pancakes until today. I’m not exactly sure!

So, you are trying to arrange a marriage for your child based on their seats in some venues?

Lol. BamaVol is a diehard Tennessee Volunteer football fan. When I met him years ago, he was sporting a Vols baseball cap. The man wants 50 yard line seats in Neyland Stadium!

When Mr. Fink and I got married, I came with row 10 blue line seats for the Canucks as part of the package. Since given up but enjoyed for many years.

A man can dream.

Unfortunately BamaVol Jr #2 lives in Des Moines and his girlfriend is from Bay St Louis MS. Neither of those places is anywhere near the Neyland 50 yard line. #3 lives in Tennessee but he’s already married and if his bride brought tickets to the union, they’ve kept it a secret from me.

these seats are equivalently superior and are very difficult to own.

How does someone with two fathers answer that question? Not speculating, just wondering.

sometimes people might use one of many synonyms for each parent so that if they’re the same gender, each person has a different title that equates to the parent. Eg mommy momma mama ma. One can also use the more neutral term of “maternal parent” or “paternal parent” or “parental unit.”

Like grandparents. I’m Uncle Willy to my grandkids. Their other grandfathers are Papa William and Papa Ken.

Not to brag (because no one brags about a team that no defense and just lost 54-7 to Nebraska), but I've had 50-yard line tickets to Northwestern football for 25+ years. (49-yard line, actually, but who's quibbling over a single yard?)

Tonight it will be ham and gruyere galettes with mache salad.

Wednesday night:
Trader Joe’s chicken enchiladas
sliced avocado
leftover taqueria rice & beans

tonight - in anticipation of tomorrow’s cross-country match:
pasta
Rao’s marinara and ks beef meatballs
raw organic veggies

JBord Oct 7, 2021 1:01 pm

Last night - sockeye salmon with a soy/mustard/garlic marinade. Couscous with pine nuts, green onion, feta. Sauteed chard with garlic. This is the best cooked salmon preparation I've tried, and (to my wife's relief) I would eat it that way again.

Tonight - shrimp in a tomato sauce (made with whatever I find), over parmesan polenta. Side salad.
