Yep - love broccoli slaw. It's also amazing sauteed. Just heat up a little olive oil, dump in the bag and add your favorite seasonings. My wife uses some seasoning mix she likes and it's really good. I don't know what she uses but even simply salt, pepper, and some garlic powder (or fresh sliced) would be good I think. We make it often as an easy side dish with fish. I think all the major stores probably carry it as I've seen it in both Kroger's and Albertson's brands. It's usually near the bags of cut lettuce.

There are other versions that have different veggies. One of my favorites has shaved brussels sprouts, cabbage, broccoli, carrots.

I agree...all of the veggie slaws are good. I like broccoli slaw with added chopped mango and I use Feast from the East asian sesame dressing and sprinkle with chopped cashews or peanuts. Yum. I suppose I could add a protein like chicken and that would be a great dinner.

Back on topic, last night hospital food:

Baked Chicken Breast, boiled veggies-carrots, peas, and cauliflower (which I didn't eat), unsweet ice tea with lemon, and sugar free vanilla pudding which had so much aftertaste, I almost puked.

Tonight's dinner: Chicken katsu bento box from a local Japanese place.

Grilled halibut (coated in mayo/mustard marinade) and then sprinkled with dill
Romaine salad with dried cranberries, dried hatch chilis, ranch dressing

Do you need us to send you a care package of food? Maybe Uber Eats or GrubHub?

No, I'm home now. Tonight:

Chili's 6 oz. sirloin with Broccoli and Corn on the Cob, my wife had her Chicken Fajitas as part of the 2 for $25 deal. Onion Petals for the App and we have our dessert left for future consumption-Chocolate Chip Skillet Cookie with Vanilla Ice Cream and Chocolate Syrup. Bayani got the kids grilled chicken strips with broccoli with some left over for his breakfast tomorrow.

Perfectly cooked! I've done this a couple times and and both times slightly overcooked. Not so bad that it's dried out, but still not the beautiful color yours has. May I ask at what temp you're removing from the grill, and how are you treating it after (cover in foil, open air resting, etc.)?

TBH, I encourage my wife to make it in the oven now to cover for my failures :).

Thanks. It's been a while since I've attempted it but think maybe I was cooking to 145, which may explain it.

I have not, but a good friend has. She likes it very much, in part because it causes her to go outside of the tried and true. So far she has had, among others, halibut, arctic char, albacore tuna, and scallops and this week's rainbow trout and keta salmon. She also recommends Burhop's at Plaza del Lago in Wilmette; they are doing curbside pick up.

Burhop's is an old seafood standby! We used to go there when I was a kid.

Sauteed halibut for the parents tonight. Brown sugar and Old Bay as seasoning with a butter/spiced rum reduction. The tortelinni was leftover from Monday so I just threw in olive oil and balsamic dressing, but the vegetables were steamed fresh.
