yes; I took my walk and returned home at 4, and we were hungry so it was an easy supper to have ready by 5 or 5:30; already forget timing. I wanted to make pizza but I’ll maybe do it tomorrow or Tuesday for luncheon. Maybe Tuesday as we will have king crab legs on Monday supper so I might want to cook something Asian for my luncheon! Or I might cheat and get a rotisserie chicken because then I can make curried chicken salad for sandwich luncheons for the week.

Can I ask why you always call your lunch “luncheon”? It seems an odd choice when it is just a regular lunch at home?

Definition of luncheon : a formal usually midday meal as part of a meeting or for entertaining a guest; a company luncheon; a fund-raising luncheon

I just assumed it's some sort of regional American thing. Supper to me is a light meal you have at a cocktail party etc not dinner.

People of an older generation and more working class background here still refer to dinner as tea and in some rural parts lunch is still called dinner.

I also live in California and know & have know many people from SF (where gaobest lives). Never once have I ever heard anyone use the word luncheon unless it was several people and under a more formal or business setting. Even then it is rarely used...more likely "I met some friends for lunch" or " I scheduled lunch with a client".

Yes, just for me.

Just a nice pub dinner at one of my fav local pubs. Had a steak and a beer. We had a nice walk home in perfect Sydney summer weather. Even bought a Frosty Fruit.

I love this little part of the world.

I still agree with others on the correct usage of the word, but points for a good response and for making me laugh at 8:30 am (that's not easy to do).

Realised I hadn't had liver for ages, so I'm doing grilled calves' liver with sage, butter and onions tonight. Will accompany with mashed potato and kalettes.

Followed by sliced oranges with pistachios, pomegranate seeds and coconut yoghurt.

I enjoy my lunch every day. Can’t remember the last time I attended a luncheon. Nor do I suspect you do either.
