I don't think pork belly is the only form of pork. And I wouldn't be so sure that double cheeseburgers & cheese fries are healthier than a pork sandwich---not even close.

Admit it, you're trolling us when you tell us that you don't eat pork regularly because it's unhealthy? Look at what you ate! Using Shake Shake nutritional info: double cheeseburger: 730 calories, 46 g of fat, 2220 mg of sodium, 185 mg of cholesterol chocolate milkshake: 740 calories, 45 g of fat, 310 mg of sodium, 255 mg of cholesterol, 69 g of sugar cheese fries: 710 calories, 44 g of fat, 1020 mg of sodium, 95 mg of cholesterol Assuming you only ate half the fries, that's still 1800 calories, 3000 mg of sodium, 400+ mg of cholesterol, 120 g of fat and 69 g of sugar. Meanwhile a serving of pork loin has 190 calories, 10 g of fat, 75 mg of cholesterol and 60 mg of sodium. 4 oz of pork belly has 587 calories, 80 g of fat, 82 mg of cholesterol, 36 mg of sodium. |

Alas my days of making meatballs are probably over for now. I didn’t eat the Calibur. I fetched it for my spouse and child, both of whom still prefer not to eat pork in general. Actually now my child wants to switch to a regular cheeseburger for next week. Next thing I know, it might become a bi-weekly meal; not really sure. Now I’m not sure when I’ve last had a burger myself, because in general I only have them when I’m grilling them at home. Ah well, I just won’t remember :-) |

Just look at the complex gravy and sauces in USA we are in San Francisco, we are strongly discouraged from eating with friends that don’t live in our household. So when you mentioned about your friend cooking up a storm, it made me think that we can’t even do this here. It almost might currently be illegal although I’m pretty sure it isn’t prosecuted. So it’s a different kind of situation. Ok so now I’m thinking that outdoor dining could probably be okay. That’s a possible loophole! |
