lol I’m just a degen and I love all horrific health habits.
The beers sound lovely!

i’m away from home - this is my first pepperoni in 6 plus months. Worth the wait!

my utopia. It’s bad enough that we didn’t consume any legal drinks or food together amongst the salad with lobster and omelets.

We did matzo ball soup last night in honor of Rosh Hashanah. Tonight we're doing a brisket (NYTs recipe with plums, port and caramelized onions) and smashed potatoes. Plus we've been drinking beer in the backyard for the last 5 hours ago I guess the potatoes aren't the only thing that's smashed...

That does look like a good recipe.

We had matzo ball soup, Michael Solomonov's mother's brisket, a recipe that calls for ground coffee in the rub and brewed coffee in the braising liquid, and potato kugel Friday night for Erev Rosh Hashanah. Leftovers tonight.

Grilled strip steaks with sauteed spinach, chard, and kale on the side. Some sort of no sugar choco peanut butter bar for dessert

Driving supper for the return home

foghorn leghorn (chicken breast) sandwich
cheeseburgers
Dairy Queen blizzards

it is very difficult to eat a DQ blizzard while driving on a winding highway - I ordered the special milkshake but they were out! The pumpkin cookie butter milkshake must be super popular!

I must have this. Either I will talk a local pizza place into doing it, or we will make it at home.

Here are the ingredients although I thought it had swiss cheese. It sounds so weird and is so good. The pastrami gets little crisp edges like bacon and the pickles are so nice and briny with it.

Looks amazing. I had a wonderful Reuben piled high with corned beef this weekend. One of the advantages of our area is that there is a large Jewish population and thus several Jewish delis - corned beef, pastrami, etc. We're not Jewish, so ignorantly weren't expecting the long lines (thanks social distancing) this weekend with the holiday. But still managed to get my Reuben with a deli pickle, bagels, chive cream cheese, and whitefish salad.

in the past, I’ve phoned in orders for OUAB and it’s gone nicely.

Yes. I noticed this time that they had "thins" there. Not the very thin type they sell in grocery stores, but just a little less bready. It still looked like a real bagel rather than one someone sat on. We'll be trying those in the future, since I try to limit how much bread I eat.

Oh, and I like to see my bagels...no ordering ahead for me. But there did seem to be quite a few pickup orders while I was there. Again, a little busier than usual due to the holiday.
