Chicago-style pizza is just lasagna, and I couldn’t even eat a slice of pizza that touched a green pepper (can’t stand pepper flavor - once had a pepper-infused cocktail at recommendation of a bartender and nearly threw up after one sip - had to cleanse my palette with an ice cream sandwich afterwards)

Back to Ristorante Argegno and St. George’s Bakery for pizza and a cinnamon bun while it was snowing outside

Wrong again. Lasagna doesn’t have crust and pizza doesn’t have pasta.

I can't believe you went there. Lasagna has a crust. That's one of the best parts! Why else do people fight over the corners?

I have never cared for bell peppers. I used to pick them off pizzas if present, and out of other things if possible. Biggest problem in Americanized Thai food. However, age has changed my palate a bit and now I don't mind a few on a pizza. I will still always sub fresh (not pickled) jalapenos if available.
Olives and mushrooms are pretty much required on my pizza though.

You’re right - lasagna has nice thin pasta layers and Chicago-style has soggy bread ;-)

Admittedly, as someone who loves Detroit style, I’m being a bit of a hypocrite, but I tried Chicago style twice from different institutions in Chicago (Labriola and Lou Malnati’s) and found the execution to be kind of gross both times. Pequod’s looks better, but I have always been weary and haven’t made it past the weariness.
