Christmas Eve:

poached shrimp
cheese & crackers with quince jam and Peruvian pepper jam

wild fresh dungeness crab
King red crab legs
Caesar salad with smushed anchovies
pasta
brocollini
Costco baguette

cookie platter (from my cookie exchange - my wife mentioned that its from my moms group which is different from hers)
Too full for ice cream

Im stunned by how easy and delicious poached shrimp can be. The crab was really good. I loved the Caesar. its a very difficult leftover and Im not stoned so dont have late night munchies.

Pot stickers, black bean dip, wings, and bagel dogs for appetizers.

But sister-in-law was not in attendance for the forth consecutive year. One year she has to move her parents, two years she had to work as she works conventions for the Gaylord Orlando. But today she not showed because she apparently has stomach flu after their family's annual Christmas Eve steak and lobster dinner at an Orlando Flemming's steakhouse.

Short ribs are resting now.

Delicious ham and egg pizza from Parco della Pace, Hiroshima, finished with an affogato - the staff was lovely, and they had me sign an atlas guestbook with all of their foreign guests and where they had come from - the walls were also decorated with foreign currency

good - one fewer guest to host. I invited my mother and her granddaughter and my mom declined on Saturday. Two fewer guests makes life easier.

It was a bit of a surprise but I had to inquire after about two minutes when she didn't walk in and immediately plop down on the couch lengthwise and plug in her phone or walk to the front to put her wine in.

Wow, that's a lot of desserts.

Yes! I learned of it yesterday. Also learned that they have a shop in nyc and at NRT among other places.

bonus - we were allowed to take it home with us, perhaps because we were final to exit and the hosts aren’t into that type of chocolate nor chocolates that require refrigeration. I can share the matcha with my bestie.

there were 19 of us - very nice and very festive! I happily helped set up tables and later put away chairs. Very fun.
the lack of communication definitely says what you already know. I’m aware you’re doing this more for your parents than anybody else. You’re a very good person.

Sorry for the crappy light. Pizza at Joia in Chamonix.

Too many toppings. The ndjua pizza in the background was a better ratio of toppings to crust.

The finest hotel Cobb salad I've had today. Simple, harmless, unlikely to cause cramps.

They were all there in the back side and partly hidden. Plenty of each actually.
