Thats why I think they are doing smaller 10% price increases. $2.65 taco to $2.95. Then $2.95 to $3.30. And two weeks ago, $3.30 to $3.60.
Its a rather beloved place in the neighborhood. A Taco Bell is 75 yards away, so a real penny pincher is already going there for their crappy 99 cent tacos.
If tacos hit $5, Id probably find an alternative.

Then you have the more expensive restaurants. I recall a couple friends I had right after college who had been waiting tables since high school and through college. They didn't want to give those jobs up because as more experienced servers, they could get Friday and Saturday nights - and would often make $1000-$2000 in a weekend for working about 16 hours...and that was at the minimum server wage. One guy ONLY worked weekends and an occasional weeknight and had no other job.

Well, that's the free market for you right? If you have a great product, you can charge more. But even then, you can only charge so much. If you have to give 4 servers an extra $5 an hour for 40 hours a week, that's $3200 a month less profit. Even if only half is charged through to customers, I bet that's a buck more per taco!

anyway consumers will show their feedback regarding the tacos. The restaurant will either keep or change pricing. I just got 4 froyos at a self-serve / weight place. $28 before tip. Its a treat type place and definitely yummy expensive.

$3.60 for a taco in AZ feels high yet I dont know what they cost in my city because Ive not entered a taqueria or mexican restaurant since September when I fetched enchiladas for some people.

Do you stack the add-ins first and then put the yogurt on top, so as it melts/settles, it fills in the gaps?

That is an excellent idea. I'm not a big dessert eater, but let my niece talk me into going to one of these places last summer. Put a bunch of my favorite toppings on of course. Then I took a bite and it was a disgusting sugar bomb. I finished almost half before I threw it away. I think your method would work out much better.

its more of a pack n stack approach. I used a spoon to push it to the bottom. I also found I could stack higher using multiple layers of whipped topping as an adhesive. I probably had the tallest cups of the day. For the record, we would share a cup between us and didnt waste any.
