Talisman Red Dog Pinot 2014 served with lamb chops and cilantro lime rice.

On the night of August 29, we got to enjoy a bottle of Yalumba “The Y Series” Viognier with our one skillet jambalaya. This was done by flashlight because we live in New Orleans and that is when Hurricane Ida hit us. No electricity, no Wi-Fi, no cell service. On top of that it was my birthday “dinner”. What a way to celebrate. 
I don’t know what’s going on, but it’s becoming a habit. First Katrina and now Ida. 😂😂

I discovered a 2010 Turley at my parents' the other day and it was very past its prime.

FWIW, an overnight on the counter did this wine no good. I poured the rest down the drain and opened a Kirkland Signature old vine zin to have alongside bbq beef ribs tonight. Ole' Kirkland was half the price, and punched well above it's weight.

Barbaresco 2008 is still a kid, will have to leave it for a couple of years there. Montepulciano was fabulous, the color seemed to be ink, it was the best wine of the night. Brunello was better if drunk last year, it already started its decline.
