Tonight@Ireland.
Tried a new restaurant.
Bread and dips, goats cheese plate and slow cooked pigs cheek & cured crispy tongue to start.
Crispy Pollock, pea pure, organic egg, aioli, chips for her, steak and herb mash for me,a couple of home-made burgers for the kids, crem brule, berry cheesecake shared for dessert.
And a really nice bottle of Tempranillo.
Good food.

They cannot be fish fingers in breadcrumb. They have to be in batter. Lot's of time consuming and careful research has finalised that Waitrose frozen haddock in batter (packs of 6) are the ones. Cooked in a Philips Airfryer. And the bread must be toasted so it doesn't squidgy. The tartare sauce has got to be cheap stuff although the wife ( from even more suspect peasant stock) prefers the organic Heinz Tomato Ketchup.
So glad you liked my sandwiches.

After being spoiled by being in Thailand for a couple of weeks, we tried a new local Thai restaurant last night.
Vegetable massaman curry with steamed jasmine rice which was delicious. My husband had chicken satay followed by chicken pad thai.
We'll be visiting there again very soon

Adey ... one of my favourite meals. Quite right. But even my wife is able to get her gob around one of my double-deckers. I am a peasant.

Dropped about $400 on food today on Cinderella's Castle and Ohana's at Polynesian Resort. My 4 year old sons' birthday today.
Will be a bit less $$$ tomorrow, but still a dent for Christmas Day comfort.
Salmon and short rib served for lunch.
Shrimp, tenderloin, pork, lo mein, ice cream, pineapple cake, etc for supper.

My Dad's birthday tonight. We had pizza and beer and then for dessert, a homemade cake with homemade penuche icing and coffee ice cream.

Going to try baking a large piece of ham in sweet chilli sauce and garlic powder just to see how it turns out.
And to piss off the in-laws who will be expecting the traditional boiled ham they always have at Christmas,
Little victories like this always help me get through the Christmas Day ordeal.

Well ... I don't normally do Turkey ... but I kept nudging my Ocado order along until ... it offered me a Kelly Turkey Crown ..... at half price ..... couldn't resist!

Great for two of us .... all the "trimmings" and turkey and chips with pickle tomorrow ....
And ... I looked out of the window just now and a baby deer stared back at me ....
