I had big plans to make potato leek soup today, but couldn’t muster the energy and effort so I made macaroni and cheese with quinoa.

I bought two of these pints back in February, ate one right away, and have been hoarding this one for nine months. Thankfully it’s not freezer burned. It’s as delicious as I remember, but I woke up at 1 am in the armchair with a cat on my chest and my innards creaking. I sometimes forget I can be lactose intolerant.

Dinner last night was at Bond 45 for my mom's anniversary. The band leader is best friends with my stepfather and it was a great show.
Oh yeah! We ate... pizza, fried calamari, grilled octopus, Caesar salad, and artichokes. Those were shared appetizers (we were a big group). I couldn't stay for the actual dinner since I had work early this morning (or so I though), so I picked up chicken over rice from a halal cart on the way home.

Used to love Corn Flakes, it was one of my favorites. I still like it but I prefer All-Bran now.

The biggest ice cream discovery I made this year was the 7-Select "chocolate fudge tracks" from 7-Eleven. I'm not big on chocolate but my friend is, and she said we should try it. It was some of the best chocolate ice cream either of us ever had.

Breakfast: oatmeal
Snack: poppy seed bagel with cheese
Lunch: BLT (with turkey bacon) on whole wheat
Afternoon snack: seafood salad

mapo tofu with LKK sauce - only 1-1/2 tbsp because it’s 550mg sodium per tbsp
sauteed / darkened spicy cabbage (hot sesame oil & chili garlic sauce)
leftover basmati rice

the lkk jarred sauce had the best mouth-numbing tingle that all my attempts with Sichuan peppercorns never achieved. Can’t believe it and I’m a jar convert. I grew up with lkk sauces and really thought that I could make my own mapo tofu. Ah well. At least I know that my mapo tofu never bested lkk.

humphrey Slocumbe ice cream is a gem although I rarely eat it. I still wouldn’t try the prosciutto ice cream because I prefer sweet child flavors and none of the savory adult flavors.

Chicken rice ice cream...

BamaVol Nov 17, 2021 5:10 pm

A couple times a year I throw caution to the wind and order from the local pizzeria. Ham, sausage, pepperoni, green pepper, onion, black olives.

Up early this morning, and recall the pic of your ice cream. So, I'm going to follow suit and have some ice cream too; though, mine is simply Haagen Dazs Chocolate, not nearly as exotic as yours.

I had a Groupon to a past favorite BBQ place that was going to expire while we’re out of town. This place would never pick up the phone, and just had you leave a message. I wasn't 100% certain they were open every day.

A friend who works nearby was coming by for a visit, and offered to pick some food up. So we got to have some wonderful baby back BBQ ribs.

That was nice.
