That is a breakfast!!

Sadly some of us ... I've had to resort to making my own bagels in the UK as bought bagels turn to mush when you hold them and I yearn for the bagels of my mispent East-end youth ... they must be chewy, sweet and not mushy.

Those bagels look great uk1!

I did a turkey melt for lunch today...two slices of havarti and cracked pepper turkey fried in plenty of butter. Mmm.

Beef ribs with veggies, plus honey citrus vinegrette garden salad tonite.. usually I'll have this once in awhile.. and when I load up gift certificates from Costco, I'll have beef ribs at Tony Romas.. I'm itching to load up again, but have to wait until after mid month.

Tonite I had cream of mushroom soup at the local restaurant.

Please don't encourage me .... I don't know whether you can actually taste pictures - but these were two from the best batch of bagels I made. Plain, simple bagels.

Can you tell that they were sweet and chewy .... I still think of that batch ....

:)

I refuse to not encourage you uk1! We're behind you all the way!

I'm in class right now and all I've had is a granola bar but in an hour I'll be meeting my Dad at local shrimp shack The Salt Box. They have fresh seafood and the menu varies daily:

As I've been left 'home alone' for a few days I thought it would be a good idea to have some of that seafood the wife detests for a lunchtime snack.
So after thawing out some jumbo prawns I first marinated them in some soya sauce, chilli flakes, lemon juice plus salt n pepper then put them on a very hot plancha.
Not bad I have to say but could maybe have done with the addition of garlic that I forgot to add.....or maybe too powerful? Anyway...the glass of beer was nice.

Very nice! But are you on a diet?

CMK10 Sep 27, 2013 3:42 pm

Breakfast: Granola bar, soda

Lunch: Cajun shrimp and chicken pasta from TGI Friday's that I took home with me last night and some Skittles. (great combo, right? :D)

Most recently: a fruit and cheese plate at the Airspace Lounge BWI. Goat cheese, cheddar and Gorgonzola, Carrs crackers and apricots ^

They're big jumbo prawns...plus I wasn't very hungry and didn't want to take the chance making too many in case they ended up in the bin.
Not bad but I need to perfect the recipe.

I always try to cook shrimp/prawns in their shells, adds so much more flavor (IMO).

Tonight was an all charcoal grilled dinner
bone in/skin on chicken thighs
halved peaches & plums
asparagus

I don't grill fruit enough, delicious.
