Let's see:
- Coffee and a granola bar on my way out of the house - RDU Skyclub Breakfast of everything bagel with cream cheese coffee, juice, chocolate mini muffin, yogurt and Biscoff - Crappy sandwich from a Charlie's Steakery at MSP with some snack basket items - Delicious takeout from an Asian market in Seattle ate picnic style by Boeing Field during a long layover (sushi, chicken curry and Pass-O-Guava Juice) - Chicken Terriyaki with rice as a DL Y meal, SEA-HKG (which is where I'm writing this from). |
Whilst this was never going to be "pretty" it's the taste that matters, right? Toad in the Hole, onion gravy, bubble & squeak with some swede and carrot mash.

My way of getting flavorful meat into spaghetti sauce lately is to buy a bag of frozen Italian-style meatballs, bake them in the oven, let them cool a bit, and then crush them into a some spaghetti sauce. So much easier and better tasting than browning beef or pork.
So that's what's for dinner tonight, spaghetti and meat sauce, but for lunch I just had several broken-up meatballs in a bowl of the sauce and grated Parmesan on top. Who needs pasta? |

If you'd be interested in trying Indonesian food while in Hong Kong (c/o thousands of guest workers), check out Warung Chandra by the Indonesian Consulate in Causeway Bay. It may not be superlative in quality, but it's where I stop whenever Indonesia isn't on my East Asia trip itinerary.
- Breakfast: Conrad Lounge food including some really good fried noodles - Lunch: Deep fried pork noodle soup, shrimp and lofah dumplings and mushroom dumplings at Din Tai Fung - Dinner: Lemongrass chicken and noodles and chicken spring rolls at Noodle Mi |
Sunday ... was a brunch with sausages, thick bacon, white pudding, spaghetti and mushrooms with rosti and egg ... and some Bredon Champagne ...
http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/t...04EF28E712.jpg Monday was some duck satay with peanut dip and some rustic salad .... http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/t...E424C6C3B0.jpg ..... and today was some Neapolitan pizza with salami, mushroom, red onion and mozzarella .... http://i612.photobucket.com/albums/t...EFCAB92294.jpg |
In need of comfort today, I'm taking off work, and for lunch I made the ultimate fallback comfort food lunch: a grilled cheese sandwich and Campbell's tomato soup with crushed-up crackers. It only differs from schoolday lunches Mom made for me in that Bozo Circus is no longer on the air and Mom never served gin & tonic.

Too much travel food. Started the day with a delicious buffet breakfast at the Conrad Hong Kong but that deteroated quickly into three Y meals on DL, some Skyclub food in SEA and now some pancakes at the SEA AS Boardroom.
Soon, another meal on DL (at least this will be an F meal) then whatever I decide on in Detroit. |
Haven't used my cast iron Lodge grill pan for a while so last night it was medium rare sirloin steak, garlic & rosemary potato wedges, balsamic baked cherry tomatoes and peas.
