Those potatos look good ..... actually .. the whole meal. I'd love that now .... I'm all Asia-ed out ....
We had meatball and noodles followed by butter chicken with rice and bhindi ... and a few beers at the Newton Centre in singapore today for lunch .... Now having "afternoon tea" in the hotel lounge and waiting for the lounge happy hour .. |
Nothing like a cuppa and a bacon roll! Ran out of brown sauce so had to go with ketchup.

Breakfast as Beyu Caffe in Durham today. Steak and eggs, the steak having an espresso rub on it and a peanut butter mocha

Branstons is a traditional brown chutney pickle often used in a ploughmans lunch. In my view the small chunk has a nicer flavour.

Every time I come back from the UK withchecked luggage - a jar of Branston is in my bag. I would bring tasty Lancashire cheese or Garstang Blue but Customs would never let those in. ^
We had two Big Macs last night for midnight munchies. I sent wifey to fetch as it is only just down the mall from the hotel and I could have a qwuick drink from the mini-bar and set the table in this little garden we have here. She was supposed to get a big fries for us to share ... and she paid for big fries ... but they only gave her a small one. So bitter was I that I nearly sent her back to get the missing chips! :D They're too busy trying to upsell than actually give us what we paid for ......:( I know I shouldn't say this but I still think that a Big Mac is one of the most clever inventions. You yearn for one, and even when you've eaten one and feel full, you yearn for another. Well I do, anyway. :) |

Is there anything else you like to take back from the UK that you can only get here without some difficulty you'd get back home?

When I used to make quarterly visits to North Devon, I would always stop at the (Woolworth's maybe?) on the High street and spend about £40 on every candy bar I could find. If I did this on the last day of the trip, most of it got home with me and I distributed it among the kids. Once I was given an extra week at the last minute and ended up spending £80 because I ate the entire first stash myself.
I think I'm missing home. :) |
Been just a day of travel. Bagel/yoghurt in the lounge, nasty omelette on the plane, early lunch/snack in DFW Centurion lounge. Then after my meetingsndowntown, light dinner in the Centurion lounge, and nibbled on nasty AA "mustard beef" on the plane. Should be landing in a few hours, when I can go home and pour myself a glass of scotch before hitting the hay.
