Looks lovely, UK1. I wish my husband would cook for me. Toast is about his limit

We had avocado, mozzarella and tomato salad with home made cheese and onion bread.

We have been extraordinarilly fortunate. The honest answer is "Yes I do"!

Firstly we're lunch rather than dinner people.

Secondly, I know this sounds almost unbelievable - but we have been very fortunate and I have cooked lunch for us for every meal (except when we eat out or travel) for every single lunch of our very long marriage.

That does look a nice fresh dish for a hot day.

Lots of butter on the side plate I see.....ah, and the bottle opener has finally made an appearance. ^

PS. Are those flowers plastic?

The flowers are real - she got them when I re-did "the side" of the house. We've got two enormous parasols there (3m x 4m ie 3m x 8m in total) and it creates a draught and somewhere lovely and shady and cool to eat during the summer when we're not at the beach place where we eat on the balcony overlooking the sea and beach etc or when we're away for example at Lau Pa Sat where will be for lunch three weeks from today for a 15 nighter!!

I cook - and make her laugh - but everything else about me is downside sadly. Grumpy, complaining ....

Anyway I'm on my way over ...... :)

.... and I know it's repetitive but we're having dry aged Sirloin Paninis with fries again today ... with a bottle of Pecheur.

Made a big pot of chilli for a chilly day.

The wife doesn't like hot food so I shall have some with a baked potato this evening and freeze the rest.

35 degrees centigrade (95 F) several thousand miles north! I had a salad. :)

Wife doesn't like hot food???! What is she, Paleolithic? :D

It's just too hot here...that's why I'm drinking rosé.

gfunkdave Jul 18, 2013 7:26 pm

I told my other half that I would make anything he wanted if he went to the store and got the ingredients. So, I made bowtie pasta with vodka sauce (and I threw in some chicken sausage we had) and garlic bread.

And rosé. Because...rosé.

Chicken Curry with Biryani and Domaine La Chautarde (Rose from Provence), Paulaner Beer and Diet Coke. Then a doze.

Was doing a bit of work at the countryside place today so for lunch decided to make some choripan.

There is nothing like a bit of porky porn in a big bap.

Cassie - avert your eyes.

:)

Cassie is too busy recovering from heat stroke to cover anything (ooo-err).

Yesterday was my husband's birthday and he insisted on having his favourite steak and mushroom pie (he should have been born in the winter). Luckily it was a bit cooler but was still hot work.

Bruschetta to start then another favourite, Victoria sponge for dessert.

I took him out for brunch at a very posh restaurant in the morning so I wasn't cooking all day. A 6 course taster menu. Very nice :D

Today .... I (we) have been eating ....

Rock barnacles. I ordered as a novelty just to try but it turned out to be one of the most succulent things I've had all year. Just close your eyes good
