The Lemon Cake is store-bought from Vons while the date wheels and walnut filled cookies my cousin made for the entire family!

I had half of that banana strawberry croissant for dinner. Got home after 5 pm from taking my cat to the vet’s office, then took 2-3 hours to decompress from the stress of the ordeal, the hardest part being getting her into the carrier. I was too pooped to even think about making dinner.

Too much Italian dressing, not enough vegetation. Chunks of tomato instead of slices. Skimpy on the cold cuts. I don’t like a sub where the dressing runs down my arm, followed by tomato chunks that won’t stay on the roll.

Italian subs are one of my favorites. I don’t get why you felt obligated to rave about a subpar sandwich, though. While I’m not saying you have to complain about it, some places might get some benefit from an honest assessment.

If I’m just trying to be nice, I’ll just say it’s fine, or ok. You can rave about the beers! :)

The restaurant is one of my friend’s clients (he sells commercial insurance). I figured I was helping with customer relations. I also thought there was an off-chance we would be comped our dinner. I might also have achieved that by complaining but that doesn’t help my friend.

I agree. I hate chunks of veggies that fall out of subs.

I do expect that your friend would treat you to supper since it’s PR and goodwill for your friend’s business relationship, for any tax-friendly status. That said, very EV+ to just not discuss anything negative about the meal.

I joined Misfits Market a month ago and my third box was delivered yesterday. Za’atar roasted acorn squash stuffed with celery, bell pepper, garlic cloves, parsley, and the leftover rice from Japanese curry night.

Looks like a candle (!) but it isn't - great illusion - there's actually a bulb inside.
