This is exactly what we ordered, but we were 10 people in total :)

If you like these tasty morsels, and if you ever in the San Diego area, Alhamdani is the best shop for such, IMO. Flavorful pastries but not too sweet and very generous on nuts and flavored with cardamom rather than cinnamon. The NYT did an article on this shop: https://www.nytimes.com/2018/11/25/n...ee-bakers.html

Steak and roasted fennel and gold beet with fresh grapefruit dressing for a late lunch today. I used my mini cast iron skillet as a grill press for the first time and should have cut the time down to 1 - 1.5 minute per side.

Thank you very much for the recommendation. I need to do a segment run by the end of the year, and from Monterey, San Diego is the better of two options. So I will be down there for an afternoon and night. 👍

I met a friend in Sarasota for dinner. We went across the street from his office to a pizza place.

Italian sub, cold, minus the provolone.
Stella X 2

i was underwhelmed, but they were his client so I raved about my sub.

What made the sub underwhelming?

Italian subs are one of my favorites. I don’t get why you felt obligated to rave about a subpar sandwich, though. While I’m not saying you have to complain about it, some places might get some benefit from an honest assessment.

If I’m just trying to be nice, I’ll just say it’s fine, or ok. You can rave about the beers! :)

Yummy. I love leftover Asian food for brekky but reheated. I know some like it cold; not me. Tried it and that was enough.
