my phone did an autocorrect of yyznomad due to my finger being in the wrong place at the time. Sorry! I really love teddybear99!!

I feel tempted to make an egg McMuffin at home - I forgot the cheese so I would skip the cheese portion. Italian sausage and provolone is okay but without egg. It’s hard to really picture a combo of egg/cheese/sausage. Even beef hot dogs don’t really go with cheese. Interesting to consider since we eat burgers with cheese but not beef sausage with cheese except for some weird exceptions. I guess a Philly cheesesteak is the other beef/cheese.

Ooh yum. I grew up eating Cantonese food and dim sum in San Francisco and I love it all so much.

Hot Italian sausage, egg, and cheese is so delicious.

I love cheese on a hot dog. You have never had a chili cheese dog? Actually it is probably a fakeish cheese sauce at some places but it is yummy. Not at all weird IMO.

good idea - I forgot about chili cheese dog and of course beef tacos with cheese.
I haven’t tried a hot dog with cheese. I did grill hot dogs for July 4, with no cheese. I otherwise only get hot dogs at michaels in highland park and without cheese.

One of the few things I really like at McDs. I always order the sausage McMuffin with egg with NO American cheese though. It just doesn't go with pork sausage IMO. At any rate, I can eat 2 of them as often as I like with no ill effects whatsoever. I consider it to be a relatively healthy fast food breakfast (without the cheese). I do prefer breakfast to be my largest meal of the day, and that may make a difference too.

The way I view is that aside from the egg, everything else is processed. I love it with the american cheese! or whatever cheese that is used here.

Grilled evergood hot links sausages
grilled onions (on foil over the grill)
reheated (on grill) Brussels sprouts & onions
sourdough baguette for the sausages
Trader Joe’s jarred green olives (label says to eat within 5 days after opening????)

In a single day, you guys probably had a majority of the comfort foods I've enjoyed the most for as long as I can remember. What I wouldn't give just to hop on a plane, and have some fresh extra fatty char sieu in HK tomorrow.

Have been posting photos to cheer others reading as many are not flying , like me . The HKG - SIN ATB bubble burst so our Advent trip did not happen .. if the ATB is not re established - our February flights are not going to happen either , especially with quarantines both ends 14 & 21 days .
$$$$$ for 5 weeks of 2 hotels stuck in room / suite ? 🤞🏻 😂 stays !! Then of course , likelihood of being quarantined in hotels not of choice , before being released to usual hotels with amazing dining options .. ultra expensive 2 months sojourn !!

Forgot to take photos of the dim sum , lobster noodles , etc , sorry , in haste to tuck in

Will try remember to take some shots today - wonder which country ‘ s cuisine ..

True for the McMuffin sandwiches, however, the folded eggs for the other breakfast sandwiches is LEP (Liquid Egg Product). They are supposed to use real eggs for their platters, but I have caught a few stores just using the LEP. I made complaints to McD's regional office, but I won't go to that store again if I want a Big Breakfast Platter. I wish you could order the eggs used for the McMuffin sandwiches as they would be considered over medium with yolks.

When I make them at home, which is rare, there is always a slice of cheese on the bun before the dog goes on. Chili or not, sausage and cheese is a wonderful combination. When I was growing up, it was basically a given that at holiday gatherings there would be a tray of sausage and cheese. Usually summer sausage and cheddar and/or Colby here in the midwest. As a hungry pre-teen boy, I could make a meal of piling slices of that beef summer sausage and cheese on top of crackers, or sometimes without :).

Of course that's a little window into the culture, since I spent most of my childhood years living in Wisconsin.

That's the number deterrent for me. I'd probably consider the 14 days (certainly not even entertain 21) if I could negotiate with a property of my own choosing but certainly not from some predetermined list, which sets off all sorts of alarm bells.

I just finished my only food of the day: 2 jumbo eggs, scrambled, half a banana and black coffee. I will start colonoscopy prep this evening. I’ve been eating light the last 2 days; potatoes, tuna and chicken noodle soup. I haven’t decided what my post procedure meal will be, but I’m leaning toward grilled steak and asparagus.

Fair enough. I have to admit, the week after Christmas, I made a lunch of it at least once. Thus the January daily calorie count. My wife is the type that trims every speck of fat off meat, so the coarse-ground sausages like this fall to me to dispose of, however I see fit.

CameronAlsop Jan 12, 2021 8:54 am

today I'm going to try some exotic fruits, however now I will probably eat a simple soup, waiting for my wife to get home and have a dinner consisting only of deserts! tasty...
