A nice Costco sourced brunch.

Toasted everything bagels, with chunky fresh avocado and Beretta sliced meats. Really nice.

Chilly weather calls for soup. Instant Potted white beans with celery, onion, kale, and bacon yesterday afternoon and had it for dinner and breakfast. The rest went into a quart mason jar because cauliflower romanesco soup is going to be on tonight’s menu.

Soaked the beans overnight.

Everything but the kale ready for cooking.

Mmm, sooo warm and comforting.

Looks wonderful. Cannellini beans and pork are a marriage made in heaven.

I'd have to say white beans and SMOKY pork. Mmmmm. And fyi, my beans were Great Northern.

deli sandwiches but I didn’t get Head cheese like last time.

roast beef on dutch crunch and ZERO garnish

hard sourdough with:
chicken cutlet Parmesan including marinara & provolone
garlic & jalapeño spread
bacon ($2 extra)
pepperoncini, sweet peppers, tomato, onion, and pickles

our friends had turkey & bacon on hard sourdough with different garnish.

I definitely must try sandwiches with Rao’s marinara - I’m sure I would love it.

I was surprised at how good it is. I love tradition, but it may be the Thanksgiving pie this year. I also noticed a Belgian blogger has a pumpkin pie with speculoos crust. Might give that a try.

Soup for breakfast. I finally made my cauliflower romanesco soup this morning. Also added an onion, a red potato, two spoons of ghee, two spoons of za’atar, salt and pepper. Thoroughly satisfying.

Well , have not had this in awhile , not something normally ordered by myself .. unlike German pork knuckle - love the crackling !!

Pork knuckle vermicelli - “ te ka bee hoon “

Served with Chinese dried mushrooms and greens .
Iced water , red cut chilli in soya sauce was not touched & with pitcher of ice on standby - consumed most of the ice

Had a Portuguese egg tart for dessert

Interesting that they carry this from Racine, WI. Having grown up in WI, I'm quite familiar with Kringle, but most people outside the state will give you a funny look if you mention it. It's even rare here in the Chicago area. Here it's "coffee cake" or a "danish" both of which are not quite the same thing. Usually you have to drive up across the border.

A few years ago, I took the Chicago Architecture Week / Open House Chicago tour of the Frank LLoyd Wright-designed SC Johnson headquarters in Racine and our motorcoach had a planned stop at O&H on the way back. I am 99.9% positive I ate the entire kringle in my hotel room over the few days of my stay. I may have even bought and ate two. I'd have to consult my FB albums to jog my memory.

Kalboz , for how much does TJ's sell them?
