Langer's pastrami is far superior; they are not even in the same universe. Canter's, on the other hand, has better ambiance.

although I love the pastrami from our local sf deli Wise Sons, I rarely get or eat it. Absolutely delicious and I just rarely get it. They’re a mile from home and I last went there for Pessach for Gefilte fish and macaroons. When I had my separate 300 sq.ft. office, it was a quarter block away and I went there at least semiweekly for 4 years.

feta isn't a great melting cheese but try some goat cheese on your pizza sometimes ....yummy .
And yes...Langer's is in a class of it's own. Nate & Al's is fun atmosphere and might have a celebrity spotting but food is so so.

I always think of feta AS goat cheese. I might just let it go because mozza is already so good and for the rare times of adding cheese, it’s usually another Italian one like ricotta or mozza balls (not shredded).

Had a nice treat today, a late brekkie with smoked salmon, soft poached eggs, capers, wedges of lemon, brown toast, tea, dry champagne and Perrier

Having keyed in on the direct-to-consumer seafood vendors here, I've been having day boat scallops almost every day. Had a 1/2 lb for breakfast this morning. Half were raw marinated in soy sauce and gochugaru, the other half were seared quickly on a hot pan and then I let some compound butter melt over them while I plated the raw ones.

Very excited for some littlenecks over pasta tonight.

I had leftovers of spiced (cinnamon and cardamom) Irish baked oatmeal with crunchy sugar (NYT recipe) for breakfast. Had it with fresh berries and cream. Just as tasty as it was right out of the oven yesterday.

how much are the scallops? They sound fabulous and I’ve seen them at my preferred grocer at $21.99/lb

$15 a pound and I usually get a free pound with every pickup because I have referred a bunch of people to them.

I have meatloaf topped with chili sauce in the oven for lunch.

I thought it would be easier on the grill with one of those grill matts bc we had so many. But these weren’t as good as the scallops I usually make with butter on the stove where they get nice and crunchy on the sides. My family still raved about these. So I guess success.

Met my friend for an outdoor park luncheon.

1906 (THE QUAKE)
Pepper Turkey, Hot Molinari Salami, Pepper Jack Cheese, Lettuce, Tomato, Onion, Pickle, Pepperoncini, Bell Pepper Mayo

i added italian vinaigrette and avocado. Very yummy. Ate half because it was enough and I’m going to try carne asada style steak for supper.

Ooh I’ll make roll-ppang for our child’s cheeseburger sliders tonight. Mega fun.

Why would you ruin a good sandwich like that with avocado?
