For breakfast, had two almond croissants from La Petite Sourie, a French Cafe. Washed them down with Starbucks Tall Drip Coffee!

I’m sorry, I’m going to have to eat those mangoes!
Mexican mangoes are good but I prefer the Filipino ones which I will get today at Sam's Club & will post the photos! :) |

I really want the ones made in Asia. the korean grocer has mangosteen but I’m afraid to try them for $11.99/lb. |
Now that restaurants have reopened, I had my first meal out since mid March - so exciting! Started with grilled mackerel salad, followed by prawn gremolata accompanied by chips (what a long lost indulgence) and seasonal cabbage. A wonderful reminder of the real world even if some of the practices are a little weird - unset bare tables, staff with masks and hygienically wrapped cutlery don’t add to the atmosphere.

Grilled evergood hot link with cold sauerkraut, kosher, and sautéed onion
deli potato salad grilled italian spicy sausage with sautéed onion on warm wide roll-ppang (roll-ppang in large size) thanks to LapLap I can now make hamburger buns in roll-ppang style, a new size to the “slider” size I already make. Big yay. separate: grilled turkey cheddarburger with raw red onion slices kettle salted crisps cheesy wide roll-ppang kettle salt & vinegar crisps |
For brunch today, we made cheese soufflés with creamed chicken (sauce volaille a la Le Soufflé in Paris). Had a fruit salad with lime/ginger/honey dressing and my cousin brought croissants from a local patisserie. Pretty tasty stuff.

I only have Mexico mangoes - I can’t find true Filipino ones because I’m not going to the correct grocers. The korean grocery store has mexican mangoes - Manila style but made in Mexico.

Philippine mangos are on regular rotation at our house. I can't recall ever seeing ones grown on Asia here in the Bay Area, only ones grown in Mexico and perhaps Guatemala.

even my friends whose parents are from different parts of India or Asia get their mangoes at Costco. I should just return to the India grocer Neelam in san Bruno to see if they have mango from India.
I think they’re just starting to get good mangoes in Indonesia. Had some really good ones a week ago. No affordable cherries, unfortunately. Mangosteens, Rambutans and lots of other good fruits, though. |

I’ve seen the Mexican type of mangoes, and another, skinnier yellow type that I’m not sure where they’re from. As long as they’re ripe and sweet, it’s good to me.

They’re prebagged at about a pound per bag. This is where I buy the strawberry cherries which are similar to red cherries but just a bit tastier. |

so when I see skinnier yellow mangoes, they’re called Manila mangoes but they’re made in Mexico. The red/green Tommy Atkins are also made in Mexico.

What happened to your money saving kick? Every store in town has cherries from $1.99 to a max of $3.99 (including whole foods) and you buy the most expensive cherries on the planet...many times. :p
