I think the flavor changes every year.

I was told that. I can see how that benefits the brewery.

Mfg: "Change the spec."

Sierra's Oktoberfest is being made in collaboration with Bitburger this year. I'm eager to try but need to clear some 'beer' space in my fridge first.

Hmm, that's interesting. I may need to try some.

That fridge is looking a tad empty compared to some of your other fridge shots!

Brouwerij De Brabandere Petrus sour black current -best sour beer I’ve ever tasted. And I think that’s because if you could strip away the sour and fruit components, you would be left with a very solid Belgian ale. My other selection was a sour wheat ale brewed with raspberry and tart cherries from Trimtab out of BHM. Decent flavor but nowhere near as distinct a product.

Grabbed a couple at the nearby Whole Foods today...

-Omnipollo Fatamorgana Double IPA (better than the average version of this)
-Southern Tier Cold Press Coffee Pumking (the cold brew-style makes this a very smooth / enjoyable beer to savor)

Forged Rye Amber from Edmonton micro-brewery Town Square Brewing Co.

That's certainly a new twist (for me) on pumpkin ales which seem to have peaked a couple years ago. Where the shelves might have had pumpkin ales from 5-10 different brewers 3 or 4 years ago, I now see 1 or 2. I'd try it since i enjoy ales brewed with coffee, but I find the pumpkin flavor cloying and might not order a second.

Was happy to see Paulener Oktoberfest on tap on a recent visit to one of my favorite German restaurants.

Also will be happy to pick up some of those pumpkin ales soon. I love this time of year for beer (and coincides nicely with football season LOL)
