Is it free for everyone? Where is this place?

Ive never had this beer but I’m willing to try if it’s free. I always have this internal debate over cheap happy hour beer. On the one hand it’s a dollar a pint. On the other hand it’s Bud Light or Rolling Rock, beers I wouldn’t ordinarily order. I probably wouldn’t spend as much time debating if it were free.

It was a local craft brewery that became big and bought by Molson... so now it's more "mainstream" I guess... I'm not an aficionado or knowledgeable enough on this stuff though. I'm not sure if I'd qualify it as "cheap" since it's roughly $2.80 USD a pint. So maybe it's "cheaper" but not "cheap"? :p

That's a new one...what is it?
Blue Moon with orange slice. We were eating lunch at Struts in Oxford, AL. I am honestly not sure which sour it was. GT brews three. Struts is all about the wings. They just sell beer to wash em down. |
Drank two Double Dogs by Flying Dog. They are 12%. I am a certain way right now.

Fortunately, I think $7 for a pint is the most I've paid at a bar or brewbub. $5-6 is common. Higher end restaurants often charge more, but I don't remember ever paying more than $10 anywhere in the US. Just returned from my local- Lost Coast Brewery & Pub where my favorite Indica IPA was $6, and my 64oz growler fill was $18. Since I'm in the mug club, I get my 20oz mug for the same $6 as the pint. :)

Oh, I guess I should clarify that these weren't beers out... these were the prices at the liquor store... IIRC the markups at area restaurants is in the $5-$7 for these pints.

$10-12 would be a special limited edition. I’d say $6-8 is typical. I paid $6.25 each for full pints last night. I like to tell Mrs BV she’s a cheap date when we go somewhere for happy hour and house wine is half off at $3 a glass. Happy hour craft beers are usually $1 off.

Been a whirlwind few weeks (newborn at home) but finally in a place to have a beer or two from time to time. Had a couple of good Oktoberfest beers recently:
Ayinger Oktoberfest New Anthem Hundstage (Marzen/Oktoberfest beer) Great Lakes Oktoberfest Also had my 2nd to last Ghost in the Machine and having an 8.5% beer on minimal sleep and after a couple weeks off of alcohol is a doozy |

I've never seen those kind of special editions, or maybe just haven't noticed. What I have noticed at a few places, is (only) serving a double or triple IPA in a 10-12oz goblet for the pint price. This bugs me to no end. In fact, I won't buy them anymore and have crossed a couple of taprooms off the "return to" list.
