Two of these have been sitting in the back of the fridge since last year. I tried one last year and it was awful. This isn’t much better. I guess I’ll drink the last one next year.

I was excited to find some Alaskan Amber at the store the other day. It was my go to when I first moved to the Bay Area long long ago and used to walk to the sports bar near the suburban apartment complex my company had put me in for dinner. Now, I find it almost undrinkable. It's so cloyingly sweet! Blech.

Tonight, Hexagenia IPA, a local favorite and always in stock in the beer cooler, and Merle from Dust Bowl, which is excellent as most all their IPAs are.

A very highly rated IPA that I just can't get a taste for. Something in the malt I think. Maybe too much of it.

The other hazy on tap was Hazy Little Thing. I quite like it but thought I’d mix things up a little as there’s HLT in the beer fridge at home.

When I was a bartender we had that on tap. I was never a big fan but it served its purpose and was pretty popular.

Sam Adams Oktoberfest. My first of the year. Sam's Club had them on sale today for $18 for a 28 pack of bottles, so who was I to skip out on that. I actually do like Sam's Oktoberfest as far as US versions of it go, though it isn't my favorite style.
