Goose Island IPA. I go to this place for the food and complain about the beer selection to the manager every time. It should improve as the weather warms.

Yes, of the extreme mainstream IPAs Goose is even worse than Lagunitas, IMO.

Yeah, I think they’re way light on the hops. It’s kind of a nothing brew.

Sometimes BA scores can be harsh. In particular, Ballast Point Mango Even Keel, which I (and many I know) find to be delicious. Too, recently I was introduced to Brew Free or Die Blood Orange IPA, and it is also delicious, in spite of the deceptively low BA scores.
Tonight, I tried SNBC Hazy Little Thing IPA (bad scores again, ...?) and liked it very much. Is my palate now corrupt? Let the wise beer drinking folk from FT decide, try these for yourselves and join me in enjoying them. |
Ballast Point Grapefruit Sculpin. I was happy to find it still available. We hadn’t been to this bar in months and they used to keep it in stock at my request. It proves that others are drinking it too or I had an old can of beer last night.

More Aslin beers for me this weekend: Hazy Orange Tears with Pineapple (an IPA, not bad at all and one even my wife will drink); Sock Monkey (a double IPA project from one of their employees, who they encourage to get the brewing experience and launch their own careers); and Johann the Mango Thief (one of their long-time IPAs; this time, it seems a bit less vanilla-y and mango-y... perhaps they conditioned it on less vanilla given how costly vanilla is these days?/).

LOL, how did it taste? Did it taste old?
Sunday: Founders Green Zebra, a watermelon flavored gose. Then a blueberry maple stout. I don’t remember the brewery. It tasted like blueberry chocolate chip pancakes. Tonight: a cranberry Berliner weiss from Oakshire in Eugene. |
Schofferhofer hefeweizen grapefruit beer. At 2.5% alcohol content, I’m going to need to finish the six pack.

An 805 and a Dale's Pale Ale at the spring training game today ^

I have no problem with Goose IPA. It beats the heck out of Bud Light.

If I went someplace and all they offered was Bud Light, I would leave. Even if it was $1. I enjoy the taste of beer. Around here, water has more flavor than Bud Light. That's not a positive statement about Bud Light or our local water.
