BamaVol Jr #1 sent me 4 cans of beer from Oregon right before Christmas. I had the first one last night, my first alcoholic beverage in a month. It was an IPA from Claim 52 Brewing in Eugene and it was excellent. Although after no beer in 30 days, anything might have tasted good.

Then we toasted the New Year with a bottle of sparkling wine from New Mexico. Seriously. New Mexico.

Slope Style Winter IPA

I popped open the 2017 Limited Release of the Amber Ridge barrel-aged amber ale from Burlington Brewing Company that I had bought back in early September. Absolutely sublime. Vermont has the best beers, IMO, of anywhere I've been to (Portland, OR is probably second).

We spent yesterday afternoon at our local brewery (Nivol) taproom where I drank the honey dunkel. I’m sure it had a clever name but I failed to take note of it.

Speaking of "from the beer stash" tonight I finally moved to the fridge a long forgotten 4 pack from a now defunct San Antonio microbrewery. The beer was Branchline Brewing's Silver & Black IPA. It's actually rather decent. They went out of business in mid-2017, shortly after buying this beer and tossing it into the beer aging fridge. I believe I still have a bomber of their 2nd Anniversary Ale in there which was an acquisition on the same road trip.
