Met friends in VA for lunch today and since they were stuck in traffic on I-95, I wandered into Total Wine and More. This was probably a bad idea for me. :D

I now have:
New Belgium Skinny Dip
New Belgium Shift
New Holland Imperial Hatter
New Holland Michigan Hatter
Southern Tier 2X IPA
Old Bust Head Graffiti House
Rubicon Hop Sauce
Speakeasy Big Daddy IPA
Humboldt Nectar IPA
Coronado Idiot IPA
Sweetwater 420
Sweetwater IPA

That will keep you busy for a while.

I had brunch at Bonefish after church and had a pale ale from Pensacola Brewing. Always happy to see local beers on the menu and enjoyed this one immensely.

Lunch yesterday, I finished with Judge Roy Bean Stout from Fairhope Brewing over the border in Bama. Loaded with vanilla and espresso flavors.

Went to Three Floyds with a FTer last night. Love to introduce people to that place.

Got a case of Gumballhead, a hoppy wheat. $40. I think it is better than the last time I got it. Very nice.

About a week ago, I was somewhat inspired: I walked into a store knowing they sold Three Floyds but knowing they would not have Zombie Dust. I was looking for Gumballhead but found some Bell's Uranus. I got both - my lucky day.

If I keep consuming Steigl Radler will that mean Summer will never end? Only one way to find out...;)

You weren't kidding.

Currently

Oskar Blues' Dale's Pale Ale
Samuel Adams Boston Lager
Sweetwater 420

And Sweetwater IPA has returned to my favorite music venue. Unfortunately the music wasn't as good as the beer last night and Mrs BV was into the sangria so I had to suffer through this guy for 2 hours with only beer to console me. Okay, I agree it could be much worse.

We wandered through the beer section while grocery shopping yesterday, hence the new additions.

DC Brau's Corruption IPA
Dogfish Head 90
Flying Dog's Raging .....

We're mostly a hoppy/IPA household.

I took Grandma BamaVol out for lunch and enjoyed another Judge Roy Bean stout as well as a black IPA from Proof Brewery over in TLH. Very interesting, like a hoppy porter. Both went well with an ahi tuna BLT.

Brewhouse pilsner.

It's not fall yet but the pumpkin ales are starting to appear. Went out earlier in the week with family and Miss BV ordered a Pumpking from Southern Tier. I got a sip and it tasted exactly like a slice of pumpkin pie. Within the month, it will be joined by another 3 or 4, I am told. Last year, they carried 6 or more but several of them lingered a little too long. No one wants a stale pumpkin ale in December.

Went back last night for dinner and had my own goblet of Pumpking. But the beer highlight of the year so far was a glass of Funky Buddha Last Snow porter. Chocolate and coffee and coconut! Amazing, and tasted just like a mounds bar. I told my server that I wouldn't be able to leave the bar until the keg was empty. Sadly, it was. I had gotten the last of it.
