Great Basin "Icky" IPA

Bringing back a few beers from a weekend trip to Burlington...no Heady Topper or Focal Banger to bring back, sadly, but lots of good booze:

-Foley Brothers Hawaiian King imperial stout
-Foley Brothers Pieces of Eight Imperial IPA
-Frost Works Plush Double IPA
-Burlington Beer Company Amber Ridge limited release

I forgot how great of a beer scene there is up here. IMO it puts Portland, ME to shame.

You definitely drink some old school brews. I had no idea Tuborg was still around. I don't think I've seen it since the late 70's.

Me neither and it was nasty.

Going to the pool, and the only beverages I had in cans was Old Chub Scottish Ale. Kind of heavy, but refreshing on a 90-degree day. Would've preferred to bring down some Summer Shandy, but I only had those in bottles.

Friend brought a six-pack of Dry Dock Apricot Blonde Ale.

Sam Adam's Summer Ale on UAx last night. Asked for Oktoberfest (good chance to try for free and see if it was worth buying a 6 pack), inexplicably when they didn't have she just brought me the Sam Adam's Summer Ale instead of asking if I wanted that or something different.

Had a couple sips and didn't care for it enough to keep drinking- I remember when I used to like it quite a bit so my tastes have definitely changed.

It may have been a little old at this point. The bar I was sitting at Monday afternoon had Sam Adams Boston Lager and Octoberfest on tap.

I flew with UA on 8/31, and it had September's Hemispheres magazine listing Oktoberfest. I asked for one, and the FA said it won't be loaded until 9/15. They didn't even have Summer Ale, so I had to settle for Goose Island 312, which I consider to be meh.

Weisser Elster Pilsner...a local craft beer from Leipzig, Germany.

Not like you missed much...Sam's summer seasonal isn't that great IMO. I'm also generally biased against summer seasonal ales / lagers, which are too light for me... :)

Real Ale Axis IPA

Had dinner tonight at a Mexican restaurant so ordered a Dos Equis amber to go with my carnitas. Followed dinner with a visit to a local music venue where I switched to Magner's cider.

Battery Steele Avalon DIPA

A new brewery that opened down the road earlier this spring.

Having to suffer in the heat and humidity of Florida all week, I could've used a light, citrusy ale. It's no Summer Shandy, but it'll do in a pinch.
