One of the most beautiful sights around FAR is a drive through the wheat fields around midnight at the full moon before the harvest.

Another fun time is "The January Thaw". As a counter to the usual weatherperson on TV throwing a cup of water into the air and watching it freeze before it hits the ground or using a banana as as hammer, a bunch of folks I know wait for the temp to get to 32 F and head outside in shorts and t-shirts to grill hamburgers and hotdogs. Naturally, the beer's chilling in a snowbank. Way cool!!!

How about crazy winter Cat III-c drivers. I mean why even get out/try driving.

Admit doing the cup of water thingie and seeing some locals using walleyes (or whatever the fish was) as tools during/after ice fishing. Or rent a car drive it on the middle of a big frozen lake and then press that assist/help button and get some call agent from warm Memphis staring at their map

My uncle has a TV room with a projector in his house. During the winter months he puts beer cans on the window sill. All he has to do is open the window and grab one. Saves the electricity costs of having another fridge up there.

This is true, although that could be an interesting discussion.

I spent two years in HQ USAF Contracting ...

They're already in the ditch, another reason to stay between the ditches.

Only experienced this once on the way to my mother-in-law's for Christmas about 20 years ago. Traveling on I-94 visibility just went to zero. Fortunately we were close to an exit & got off the freeway, and we actually did drive into town (Osakis, about 2 miles off I-94) with the windows rolled down & eyeballing the ditches. We got the last room in the motel.

Growing up in Nebraska (62-68) we were told that people had actually drowned in blizzards.

Israel was the bomb. I spent half day entering and existing the country.
They kept asking why I'm only there 1 night.

Last time he sent me 2 pounds of Israeli chocolates for winning his game. It tasted good and I'm still alive.
