It's been a month to the day since I stepped foot on a plane, but I finally get to fly again on Friday. Actually, I'll be flying the next three weekends and four of the next five, with Mrs P. coming here on the other weekend in that time frame. My first 737-900 flight is Monday. I've heard pretty awful things about them, but fortunately I cleared at the window. Unfortunately, flights between DAY and DTW all seem to be on single-class CRJ2s or ERJ-145s. At least that flight is even shorter than VPS-ATL.

I have taken that flight about 1 dozen times this year. Always a CR2 for me -never had an ERJ.

Had a huge change today - used up a US Airways voucher and did MCI-DCA-DAY and it was on a --- CR2. Returning to MCI Friday via CLT

That's pretty funny. I think this was initially a CR2 but had a schedule change. I actually had several schedule changes on DAY-DTW-BWI itineraries that allowed me to change to ATL connections for a few more miles and, more importantly, real planes. I definitely prefer the single seat side on the ERJs over the CR2s though.

I had two DAY-DTW RJ flights in a row (about a month apart, 5-6 years ago) that sat on the hold line for one of the C gates for about 15 min until the marshalers decided to show up and wave their lighted wands to guide us to the gate ... I was lucky enough to make my connections departing from one end or the other of A, but my seat mate on the second one missed door closure by less than a minute and got to spend the night at a local hotel ...

Yesterday I finally was able to see an allergist since I first had a cold in October and the symptoms never fully faded away.

I'm allergic to some grasses, trees, and pollens.

A place without those? Arizona.

Re-affirmed my desires to move to the valley of the sun.

It used to be, until a lot of people moved there and decided they wanted to plant the stuff they were familiar with.

Yeah. I've seen images of properties in that greater area with grass... still I bet the majority don't.

Time flies when you are having fun. Off topic, but when I first moved to the US, Southwest had a direct flight MCI-MHT - Manchester New Hampshire was quite a convenient little airport. Certainly more convenient than BOS.
