As I mention in my question this is an important point. Which year is being matched...

Excellent move especially as pertains to MM benefits (I am nowhere close, only 350k lifetime) but I giving auto 360 for those 5M+ is a great idea. Plus Gold (SKTE) for 1M will keep people pushing.
Big fan of the MQD changes, I travel every week for work and mostly Delta and would likely have not been able to reach Diamond at the previously proposed level.
The 24 hour window for SC access rule is interesting, I wonder how that will be tracked.
Edit - Looks like I mis read, and every access will be for a 24 hour travel day. So as a Platinum Card holder, I have 10, 24 hour accesses .

The devil here is in the details. I think the "choose complimentary Medallion Status at your current tier for one year per every 100,000 MQMs" is an exciting change, although it's unclear to me if that is the current (year 2023) status or the status we're earning currently for 2024. That would mean the difference between DM (me this year) and PM (me next year) which would be significant. Any clarifications?
Still a significant improvement.

"You will have until December 31, 2024 to decide how you would like your Rollover MQMs converted. You can choose to convert them to MQDs, miles or a combination of both. Members with MQM Rollover balances over 100,000 can also choose to extend their 2024 Medallion Status for 1 year per every 100,000 Rollover MQMs."

I will hit the end of the year at 1.9MM, and was not happy that the change would take me from making 2MM in one year to taking multiple years. Getting gold for my current 1MM is decent, though of course we can start placing bets on when Gold will be devalued
None of this fixes the sky club crowding for well over a year, which IMO is the thing that most needed fixing!
Keep climbing, Delta.

They have signaled pretty clearly where the destination is in their minds, so if not in 2025, for sure in 2026 they will be back to the levels they want.
Honestly I'm floored by how much they walked things back, including the rollover for high-MQM accounts. MM program just got a huuuuge shot in the arm. It's actually worth something now (esp 2M+).

The one thing that didn't get changed is parity between the Amex Plat and Reserve for MQD accrual, which is too bad. They really want people to get the Reserve card I guess.

Hum... if that is the case, 5k from Amex cards plus ~9k in converted MQMs makes 2025 Diamond potentially doable for me if 2024 is a heavier travel year... Would be a one time non reoccurring event because of the rollover, but sure would be fun.
It also reads like guest access follows the same visit rules as primary card access now where the $50 = a network wide SC daypass, essentially, which would be a pretty meaningful enhancement if true.
