While you can continue to earn Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) throughout the rest of 2023 toward your 2024 Medallion Status, MQMs and MQM Rollover will be departing at the end of 2023. Beginning in early 2024, we will offer a one-time conversion of your Rollover MQMs or a Medallion Status extension for Members with a significant Rollover MQM balance.

OK, my situation: Have reached Diamond in 2024 and will have 180,000 Rollover MQMs that will have to be converted (have 305,000 MQMs in account currently). Here are my questions:

1. Assuming I extend Diamond status through 2025 for 100,000 MQMs, is their any incentive for converting the remaining 80,000 to MQDs since MQDs will reset at the end of 2024 anyway?
2. Rather than extending status, I can convert all 180,000 MQMs into 18,000 MQDs. Given my yearly spend with Delta and my Delta Reserve Card, it will sadly be no problem to reach the required 28,000 MQDs by end of 2024. Is this preferred over extending the status for any reason? Perhaps from a choice benefits stand point?
3. Is there any non-flying way to get the extra 20,000 MQDs I would need to get to 325,000 MQDs and get two year extension? Have already maxed out 4 status boosts with Reserve Card (again, sadly).

Thanks again for any insight!
To answer part of (2) you don't get plat choice benefits if you extend your DM status. I'm not sure if it's been confirmed whether, if you extend DM, but earn PM, you also get PM choice benefits.

But even if you can't get PM choice benefits if you extend DM status, you'd be giving up 40k RDMs to get PM choice benefits. I wouldn't do that.

MQDs to date is a tiebreaker for upgrades so that's one factor to possibly consider, but I personally wouldn't really give that much weight.
