Anyone know if you are in F with a boxed meal, can you also ask for a snack box in addition to the “meal” box?

I've seen reports both ways. On my last flight, someone asked for a snack box instead of the meal box and was flatly turned down.

a snack box has value, a meal box has no value

What can we expect JFK-SFO in economy? Anything beyond snack boxes?

All those photos look great but I assume the plated meals with silver are from F.

Just finished a 6 segment trip in F. Mostly the same cold box choices we have been seeing over the past few months. Just posting a datapoint in case anyone is interested:

ANC-MSP: Prosciutto sandwich, chicken salad sandwich, or ancient grain box. I chose the prosciutto sandwich and it came with chips and a cookie. The sandwich itself was tasty, but still overall too much bread compared to meat/cheese ratio. Attentive FAs, seemed to be offering refills frequently, but I fortunately fell asleep soon after eating and slept all the way until the 10,000 ft ding descending into MSP!

MSP-ATL: Banana bread, charcuterie plate, or coconut chia oatmeal (cold overnight oats style). I went with the oatmeal as I normally am a fan of overnight oats, but honestly this had no flavor. I mostly just picked at the peaches and blueberries it was served with. I wish I had gone with the banana bread, as I have had it on another flight and quite liked it! Probably the best FA's of the trip. Kept everyone's drinks filled and genuinely seemed to enjoy providing service.

ATL-ECP: Short flight, less than 45 minutes once airborne. Happy to see a full beverage service in F and a snack basket was offered. The flight leader seemed to be training a new FA and was teaching good habits/service skills.

ECP-ATL: Again another full beverage service in F, but no snack basket this time. FAs seemed very disinterested.

ATL-MSP: Smoked salmon salad, turkey sandwich, or teriyaki grain bowl. I tried the salmon salad, and while it was tasty, I struggle to actually call it a "salad." It was a very small portion of salmon, an even smaller portion of lettuce, but tons of tomatoes, red onions, kalamata olives, and potatoes. Oh, and there was half a boiled egg in there too. Overall just a hodgepodge of small bites. The best thing about the box was the pumpkin bread. Very unmotivated ATL based FAs. The flight leader looked at my seat mate and myself and said "You guys want lunch?" No refills offered despite intentionally displaying my empty cup prominently.

MSP-ANC: Same menu as the outbound (prosciutto sandwich, chicken salad sandwich, or ancient grain bowl). Tried the chicken salad sandwich this time and it was my least favorite meal of the entire trip. Rock hard bread, and a very unpleasant tasting and liquidy chicken salad. Attentive FAs that kept glasses filled, frequent water runs, and two passes of the snack basket on the 6 hour flight. They would have had my vote for best crew except they were too overzealous with the masks, and actually suggested people keep them on while eating and simply lift for each bite. Give me a break.

I am happy to see hot meals returning next month, and my next planned DL flights aren't until late March and early April, so keeping fingers crossed things will be rolled out by then. Overall I would be fine with seeing the cold boxes stick around on late night redeyes that don't typically receive a meal service (such as SEA-ATL, etc). But for flights during "meal times" hot items will certainly be a welcome change.

JFK-ATL is currently snack basket only. I wonder if meals will come back to this route.

The FA insisted on arranging it for me so I could get a better picture.

As a hub-to-hub route, I would think it's pretty far back on the priority list. I would guess a route like BOS-ORD would be more likely given the more competitive environment.

yep in my experience, DL fa’s are far more stringent on the masks than UA…. You’ll more likely have something said to you if you let it slip off for a few minutes on DL, whereas UA can definitely be more chill.
also, same experience with the DL fa’s, with their take it or leave it attitude. Don’t comprehend why though…

Delta One menu card and QR code

Started this month, the new Delta One menu card..QR code leads to more detailed descriptions of the soup, salad, and drinks selection…the two other pre-order-only main course items are not listed here (since they are not available to order on board) but are still available for pre-order up to 24 hours before the flight).

Big improvement, but I'm wondering why they still can't select wines and have them on even the digital menu. "Red wine" and "white wine" are ridiculous.

It also sticks out how the dinnerware doesn’t really fit on the tray anymore.

Is premium select still getting economy meals? Or are they actually nice like delta one again? Specifically long haul to asia like DTW->ICN or something.
