Skymiles Select
If you received an emailed offer, please beware. Read fine print carefully. Here is the communication to Delta.
On October 17, 2019, I received an email regarding SkyMiles Select. I read the opening part, and signed up. Later on after an hour or so, I had a question, so I reopened email and went through all FAQs. Based on my review, I did not see need for this program as I already have a Delta SkyMiles Platinum card. So, I initiated a chat to cancel the enrollment. The representative clarified my question and agreed to cancel and refund the amount. He did not email me chat confirmation as promised. Since eight days have passed, I checked my American Express account, and followed up with a representative and supervisor named Mike. Mike refused to credit my amex account. I find this un business like. The email presented incorrect information and was not clear on certain language. Therefore, I ask for the refund promptly. This whole process took almost two hours of my productive time. And, your action amounts to a fraud and bait and switch. Your failure will compel me to seek other avenues for redress.

1)theres already a thread about this program - Skymiles Select Program
2)The main issue seems to be you didnt think about what the program would actually offer you versus what you already get. This isnt DLs fault that you bought something without thinking it through.
3)if an agent really did promise a refund, then they should be able to see this in the record of the chat. However the terms do say it's a non-refundable purchase. Also it's possible the agent was meaning they would put in a request for a refund, not that they were actually promising a refund.
4)none of this is a fraud nor is any of this a switch and bait. Quite simply you bought a non-refundable service without getting details and now expect DL to let you out of the purchase.

"Medallion Members and holders of the Delta SkyMiles Credit Card by American Express may already enjoy Main Cabin 1 Priority Boarding or better; purchase of the membership does not entitle subscriber to any further-enhanced boarding benefit."
That being said, it seems like a good customer service gesture to cancel and refund, and especially if it is promised, they ought to deliver on that promise.

I bought this a couple weeks ago and thought I'd mention that, for whatever reason, the purchase price counts towards MQDs. Sorry if this has already been mentioned in this thread, but a quick search didn't show anything. This could be a much cheaper way of crossing a status threshold than either the buy-up offers or an extra trip for someone obnoxiously close to qualification.

This would just be a smaller version of DL saying they'll allow you to pay them for no reason other than status.

Has anyone received it yet? Would love to see what the luggage tag looks like... along with the drink vouchers. Just curious if they're like the Have One On Us chits or if it's done a different way.

Girlfriend purchased it and the drink vouchers appeared in her Delta app within 24 hours or so. No luggage tag yet...

However, for some customers--namely those who only need a small number of MQDs and have enough MQMs--this path undercuts DL's personalized prices to buy status by a lot. For a DM, the savings could be several thousand dollars.

Only if you are within $59 MQDs though, right? That's a pretty small niche.
