Sounds like the A220-500 is happening. Expect an order from Delta considering the fleet commonality and lack of any current orders in the 738/A320 class.

F seats were rather narrow. Console in between seats for placing drinks was incredibly thin. Also, one has to be a contortionist to locate and plug into the power source under the center armrest/console. Not the best. The USB connection, however, was easily reachable at the screen. Overhead bin space was quite roomy. Overall, I found the aircraft to be OK but nothing to write home about. I would have rather been on a real mainline or E-175/CRJ-900 (in the single seat).
I think that’s a fair review. I just completed my second trip on an A220 today, LGA-DFW. I believe I did SLC-SFO on it previously. Pitch in F is decent. I was in 3A, and even when row 2 was reclined, there was still a decent amount of space. The recline itself is pretty nice also. Forward lav is roomy compared to many other new narrowbody aircraft. Seatback screen and powerports are nice and what you would expect on this sort of aircraft. I agree that the center drink console is quite small, and I think everything would have felt a bit tighter if I’d been sitting next to someone I didn’t know. . With the lack of a proper bulkhead and the overall dense seating configuration, Row 3 does feel a bit too close to Y, though!

I ♥️ the 220 in both C+ and F. I think it’s probably the best single aisle aircraft in the fleet. Quiet. Big windows. Good internet. Bigger bathrooms.

I've found it interesting how the fleet, currently at least, seems to be heavily segmented: 221s in the east (not exclusively but heavily it seems), 223s in the west (heavy SLC focus for the 223). This may change as more 223s come into the fleet, there are less than dozen right now I think.

SEA also sees a significant number of 221s these days.

Do anyone will believe that in next few years that Delta will order more A220s (100s or more likely 300s) to replace Boeing 717s in 3-5 years? When I did do research, A220s mainly used in New York airport and Boston, and in Seattle, Los Angeles, and Salt Lake as A220s based. MSP and DTW is hybrid of the 2 types. But for some reason, only Delta largest hub of Atlanta has NO A220s service as many of them are used by Boeing 717s? What is a good timeline for A220s to replace Boeing 717s out of Atlanta?

Some years ago, Delta executives told a group of FlyerTalkers that their corporate philosophy was to match capacity to demand as much as possible. The 717 accomodates 112 pax (12F + 100 Y). The A220 series accomodates (I think) 12F + 97Y for a total of 109, so it is reasonable to assume that Delta will replace its 717s with A220s.

I can see why DL uses this type of aircraft on its routes from SLC, MSP and DTW to Texas, where other airlines (AA, UA and WN) are dominant. The planes are actually a smaller but higher quality alternative that makes sense for Delta's national network. Also, in the case of SLC, some aircraft work better at high altitude than others (SLC is at roughly 4,200 feet AMSL) and the A220 is one of those planes.
