DL started the A220 on the SEA-ATL route. Not much difference.

Honestly that sounds amazing. I might fly the route just for the plane.

Long and thin - perfect for the domestic equivalent of the 787.

I had my first flight on an A220 today. While F seat pitch is a bit tight, the giant screens are great and the window placement is nice and high. I of course made a pilgrimage to the port side coach lav so I could pee while watching the world go by. LOL

In chatting with the FAs, they said they like the plane better than the 717 and Mad Dogs, but the tech for them is a bit frustrating. PA announcements don't pipe through the headphone jacks of the TVs. They mentioned odd things like being unable to get the lights to work in the lavs and other oddball stuff.

I like everything about the plane except for the F seats and the whale mating sounds the engines make. The F seats really suck and it’s unfortunate to see Delta using the same terrible ‘Oasis’ F seats AA is using. These are PE seats without the leg rest and worse pitch.

Is this list kept up-to-date? Seeing 1xA319 on SEA-IAD in May/June/July (down from 2x738). I'm seeing the A220 on SEA-TUS instead.

Is long and thin specific to an airport pair or city pair? Is is specific to an airline or the route in general?

I ask, because for DL, in 2019, this was indeed a very thin route, only 39K passengers flew this specific airport pair. But over 278K flew this pair when you add in AS and UA. If you add in DCA and BWI you're up to 506K between DC and Seattle. I've always thought of long and thin as being a city pair with little demand but enough for the right aircraft. I'm not sure this is a long and thin route, just a route that DL hasn't penetrated and built up market share for.

I got the data from here

Really enjoyed the ride on the A220-100. Here were some of my key takeaways:

- loved the big windows.

- placement of power outlets is optimal in front of you versus having to reach under a seat or deep below the middle divider between the seats.

- spacious lavatory.

- sufficient overhead bin space.

Just verifying that it is possible to walk from first class to steerage to video and observe the lav with a porthole LOL.

Just didn’t want to get “busted” using a lavatory that wasn’t in my ticketed cabin 🥲. That window makes all the difference if you have a snack box emergency 🚨.

Just to note, the rule about using the lav in your ticketed cabin only applies to international flights bound for the US.
