8141 is scheduled to be delivered on Tuesday:

https://flightaware.com/live/flight/N141DU

Based on DL's annual report, this should be the last A221 this year.

We spent 90 min at the gate rebooting the electronics (including the whole plane!) trying to get the personal entertainment stuff to work. Never got it working. Finally left almost 2 hours late. I can say in my 2M miles on Delta I've never flown a plane that had worse NVH. It felt like have the engine bolts were missing on the left side. I asked the pilot when we deplaned and he just smiled and said "yeah they are all like that". ....
I've flown on a few A220s at this point. I haven't experienced any such issue with noise/vibration, and I've always found the cabin to be very quiet and comfortable.

As for your issue with the electronics: I had something very similar happen to me at DFW on Super Bowl Sunday, but it wasn't just the IFE. It started as an apparent issue with the IFE beginning around the time the first engine started, with the cabin crew attempting to reboot the system, but then the captain said there was a fault with the plane's electrical system. First thing he tried was a 'soft reboot' of sorts. When that didn't work, maintenance came on board to attempt a hard reboot where the lights and HVAC actually shut off, and that ultimately fixed the problem (although it took the IFE a while to work properly). The captain was very communicative with us and actually came into the cabin to talk to us during the hard reboot- he speculated that it had something to do with the plane sitting in DFW over the weekend, and I got the impression that it isn't an uncommon issue. I would bet that something very similar happened to your aircraft, especially since I doubt DL would delay a flight two hours over a problem with IFE. I'd chalk it up to a teething issue, especially since the plane is still relatively new to commercial service in general (let alone DL's fleet).

Sounds about right. The plane runs a self flight control test every so many hours. (I forget the full details and parameters but I believe it has to be on the ground) but one of the major things is that it needs hydraulic pressure to the flight controls. So, if the plane is sitting with just power on it will fail the test and the plane gets very upset and creates a lot of faults. There are a few resets for it but sometimes it takes just a full dark ship reset to get everything to be happy and play nicely with the other systems again. We had that issue a lot on the first flight when the A/C had been sitting power on on the overnight. The IFE takes 15-20 minutes to reboot or something crazy like that

My experience:
I flew the A220-300 from STL to SLC yesterday (https://flightaware.com/live/flight/...947Z/KSTL/KSLC). We left 20 minutes late from St. Louis due to a late inbound. I sat in Y, just aft of the wing. The pitch was mediocre but the extra width was noticeable. The airflow from the vent wasn't particularly powerful. There was nice mood lighting and music on boarding.

As for takeoff--wow. Steepest I've ever had in my life. This plane was booked to COVID capacity, with over 90 people onboard. We only used 3000 feet of Runway 12R and took off like a rocket, clearing 2000 feet before leaving airport property. There weren't too many weird noises (besides a whale sound on takeoff). It was a very bumpy flight.

Inflight wasn't too great. Whole plane had IFE issues. Only the map feature and games worked. Movies and TV were inoperable for most people. Live TV was spotty and sometimes disappeared as an option altogether. The FAs rebooted the system twice in the air and apologized profusely. The service was kind, attentive, and excellent. The internet was out, so no IFE available there either.
At one point during the flight we pitched down really steeply from 38000 to 28000 feet. Judging by FR24 and Flightaware we descended there at 4000 feet per minute.

Overall, mediocre flight.

That is not how these things work - especially for the A220.

All aircraft systems have a Built-in-Test of one form or another. The common ones are IBIT and CBIT.

IBIT is Initialize Built-in-Test, this test is performed only when the system is initialized. This is typically the test that happens, just before and during push-back (depending on the system) and during taxi-out. Sometimes just before push back or during taxi-out a IBIT will fail and present a fault, this is why sometimes planes have to return to the gate for a maintenance check.

CBIT is Continuous Built-in-Test, depending on the system , the BIT is run all the time or at per-determined internals during all phases of flight. In some cases, when a CBIT fails and presents a fault and once the QRH checks are completed, a diversion is required.

Some systems have a Maintenance Built-in-Test, but this test can only be performed when the aircraft is on the ground and the aircraft is placed in Maintenance Mode.

There is also a specific startup and test sequence that needs to be performed and generally the IMA (Integrated Modular Avionics) takes care of most of that.
