Just got ug to FC on a 220 RDU-BOS on Mon, Jan 23!

Pitch is actually 36" up front on the A220s. Same as the 319/320.

Pretty sure that was the "Delta’s A220 narrowbody offers customers the in-flight experience of a widebody aircraft" mentioned above.

It's mainline wages without the large pax count needed to achieve decent CASM.

Which is why AA got rid of their E190s.

Also still waiting to catch one. Not easy being in ATL with the hub traffic justifying larger equipment.

There will be the same nostalgia for them when they're gone as there was for the DC-9 and MD-88s. Only then it will be the true end of an era with the DC-9 variants being gone from the skies forever unless you are fortunate enough to island-hop on Hawaiian.

I'll miss the 717's just because of the fact that everything at the airport now is a 738 or A321. Always nice to see some variety and reminds me of the days when you could see MD80s, L1011s, MD11s, 747s, 727s all at once.

I keep hoping that they'll put some 220s on TUL - ATL & SLC. Right now it's all 717 and E175 all the time. And while they're at it, can we at least get TUL - MSP back? It's getting harder to be a DL stan with only 2 direct flights out of my home airport.

Other options being the 1x per hour to DFW on AA or UA Express 145s to IAH and DEN?

I'm not sure you can get out of TUL on anything other than an ERJ, CRJ, or 717 unless you fly SWA (or, God Forbid, Allegiant). As much as I like chilling on the decks of the SLC & ATL SCs during layovers, it's hard to justify flying Delta to places like LA or NYC when AA has TUL - LAX and TUL - LGA direct. When DL first merged with Northwest I think we at least had some more direct like CVG, MEM, maybe DTW? Since the pandemic we are down to only SLC or ATL.

True. But, NW made the DC9 work with less than 100 seats into the 2000's and DL has had the 717 for a while now. But, the 220 supposedly costs less to operate than those planes.

I assume that ATL will be the last to see the 220. There is no reason to use a nicer plane when you dominate the market and can fill larger planes. A lot of 220 routes are out of places where they have competition and DL uses the 220 to provide a better experience than their competitors. It works for me as I actively book that plane over other options if that's possible.

I put AA in the same category as Allegiant and Spirit these days.
