I booked on DL this week to avoid flight issues, delays and cancellations. Just my luck!

What are they doing with all the inbounds landing at ATL? Seems there's a ton of inbounds and few departures.

We had to wait 30 mins for a gate at SFO last night upon landing at 2am because none of the redeyes had left. They had to tow an a/c.

Holding them on taxiways awaiting gates to open. Longest I heard, while on final monitor, was a minimum of 45 minutes for a gate.

I say Delta should just blame ATC for the delay and that way they can keep their BS on time percentage artificially high...

Now we know the real reason for the computer failures.;)

Sorry. :( You do seem to encounter much more than your fair share of issues. Care to share your future flight itineraries so the rest of us can book travel to avoid your flights?

Currently sleeping (or trying) on floor at NRT. I'd say there are a few hundred of us. They handed out mats and sleeping bags plus snacks and water. Got on an extra flight they planned back to MSP direct.

Feel bad for Delta staff here. They were totally overwhelmed.

Plus, they are among the most polite staff I've ever interacted with. Extremely helpful in any way they can.

I told her that she might want to make a hotel reservation just in case it cancels, as it's easier to cancel a hotel than get one at the last minute. There is some good news for her, though. The plane she's due to fly to GRR on just landed at ATL 8 minutes ago according to flightaware.

Cheers.

Spoke too soon. My friend's 8:41am that was then supposed to go out at 2:40pm has been canceled. They now have her booked on a 9:30pm, getting in at 11:30pm. Here's hoping that one goes, but what a long-g-g-g-g day for her at ATL.

Cheers.

Ars is quoting this thread...

It's a bit sad to think that this is what journalism has been reduced to...

You're right. That's why if you've been affected by a delay greater than 3 hours, you'll get SkyMiles or a travel voucher if you just ask... and a partial refund if you're severely delayed.

You don't want to look too closely at the workings of the media. For the most part, you won't like what you see.

DL1877 can anyone help me figure out where this plane is originating from (what the inbound flight is). Looked up the Tail on FlightStats and it doesn't correolate accurately. Have a flight on SW as backup out of Midway at 830pm but not sure if I should trust this Delta flight saying 741p. Any help?
