Delta's Operational move from T5 to T2/3 at LAX:
Delta has moved to: T2 and T3 with eventual connector to TBIT (note: there is currently only airside bus service to stay securely between T2 & T3, the walking connector has not been built yet.)
Where to check bags: As of January 13, 2020, non-Sky Priority customers must check their bag(s) at the terminal their flight departs from, unless their flight departs from TBIT, in which case, they must check their bag at Terminal 2. Sky priority customers can check their bag at either terminal. See this link for more information.
Date(s) of move: May 12, 2017 - May 17, 2017
Here is a helpful chart from Delta which covers all Domestic / Int'l. transfer combos (AND TOTAL TRANSFER TIMES) between T2, T3 & TBIT.
New Bus Routes will help with connections:
- Circular Airfield Bus between TBIT, T2 and T3
- Airfield Bus between T2 and T3
Bus Map
Will there be a SkyClub: Yes, there is one in each terminal. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will remain.
- The SkyClub in T2 opened on May 20th (Former AC Maple Leaf Lounge)
pix in post 1058
- The SkyClub in T3 opened on May 24th (Former VX Loft)

Where Will The Delta One Check In Lounge Be Located:
In T2, there is a small Delta One seating area with refreshments. An agent will escort you from the check in/lounge area through a back pathway up stairs to TSA precheck. Its a shorter walk to check-in at SkyPriority and easier if you have a carry on and don't want to drag it up a flight of stairs. 11/3/17)
Airlines joining DL in T2/3 for landside and departures:
- AeroMexico (T2)
- Virgin Atlantic (T2)
- WestJet (T3)
Landside T2 only, departures from TBIT:
- Virgin Australia
- Volaris
Landside T3 only, departures from TBIT:
- Avianca/Taca
- Copa (effective April 7)
- InterJet
Will there be secure links between T2-T3 and TBIT: Yes, the final plan is to let pax walk between all airside.

The United Club at ORD is a lot nicer than the ORD Skyclub and they don't allow American express swipes and neither does the American Lounges. I don't care if they allow Am Ex cardholders in when the SC isn't busy but when the SC is packed and there are no seats they should restrict credit card entries just like the PP lounges do during peak hours
ORD may not have the newest renovated club. However overall the SCs wouldn't be where they're at without the AMEX agreement. They'd be much closers to the stall offerings of an AA AC.
Also as a note ORD has had some of the more lackluster clubs, even for international airlines. Ill spend more time at the SC then tje loinges in the intwrnational terminal. The recent renovations of the AA Flagship lounges have improved the ORD offerings. However even the new UA Polaris lounge at ORD isn't up there.

Hopefully it won't take them too long to open it up after they move. I assume they will have to renovate it before they open it. AA is taking over the old SC in T5 and they have opening set for July. Also, it looks like there won't be a D1 Special Check in area for a while as I haven't heard anything about it.

I flew UA out of LAX T7 today for the first time in maybe 3-4 months, and the whole thing is starting to look pretty nice. Each gate has some gigantic, easy-to-read from afar monitors, nice gate agent desks, a refinished floor, and nice new seats, though of course there still aren't nearly enough of them. There's also not enough space for UA to install all five lanes of their cattle pen designs, but maybe that's not such a bad thing. It's not a huge leap beyond T5+6, especially in terms of concessions, but it definitely looked nice.
I don't think I've ever flown out of T2 or T3, but I really hope we don't have to deal with a dump for the next few years and a lot of construction in order to make it look okay.

T3 is an absolute dump and will continue to be for the foreseeable future while they close parts of it and fix it up in stages.
Overall Delta's setup at LAX will be a downgrade for the next few years due to the awful state of T3 and the lack of airside connections between T2, T3, and TBIT without taking a bus.

I contacted TSA this afternoon and they say they don't yet have precheck at TBIT, so, maybe it was just for you , they added "You may also show our officers your boarding pass to receive some form of expedited screening in the standard lanes."
Or, they don't know what they have (also possible.)

At least I don't feel like I'm crazy anymore. ^

Sure but if you're flying Skyteam would that really be worth it? I haven't heard good things about the Korean Air lounge at TBIT.
