Delta's Operational move from T5 to T2/3 at LAX:

Delta has moved to: T2 and T3 with eventual connector to TBIT (note: there is currently only airside bus service to stay securely between T2 & T3, the walking connector has not been built yet.)

Where to check bags: As of January 13, 2020, non-Sky Priority customers must check their bag(s) at the terminal their flight departs from, unless their flight departs from TBIT, in which case, they must check their bag at Terminal 2. Sky priority customers can check their bag at either terminal. See this link for more information.

Date(s) of move: May 12, 2017 - May 17, 2017

Here is a helpful chart from Delta which covers all Domestic / Int'l. transfer combos (AND TOTAL TRANSFER TIMES) between T2, T3 & TBIT.

New Bus Routes will help with connections:
- Circular Airfield Bus between TBIT, T2 and T3
- Airfield Bus between T2 and T3

Bus Map

Will there be a SkyClub: Yes, there is one in each terminal. Virgin Atlantic Clubhouse will remain.
- The SkyClub in T2 opened on May 20th (Former AC Maple Leaf Lounge)
pix in post 1058
- The SkyClub in T3 opened on May 24th (Former VX Loft)

https://www.delta.com/content/www/en...d-updates.html

Where Will The Delta One Check In Lounge Be Located:

Delta will temporarily offer dedicated check-in space in Terminal 2 (first door closest to T1) while a long-term Delta One experience is finalized.
In T2, there is a small Delta One seating area with refreshments. An agent will escort you from the check in/lounge area through a back pathway up stairs to TSA precheck. Its a shorter walk to check-in at SkyPriority and easier if you have a carry on and don't want to drag it up a flight of stairs. 11/3/17)

Airlines joining DL in T2/3 for landside and departures:
- AeroMexico (T2)
- Virgin Atlantic (T2)
- WestJet (T3)

Landside T2 only, departures from TBIT:
- Virgin Australia
- Volaris

Landside T3 only, departures from TBIT:
- Avianca/Taca
- Copa (effective April 7)
- InterJet

Will there be secure links between T2-T3 and TBIT: Yes, the final plan is to let pax walk between all airside.

Well, yes, but at least for the TBIT shuttle, "temporary" means several years, whereas the T5 one should be more like several days or weeks (haven't checked the exact timetable).

They presumably won't once the move is done, but there will be a period in which they're operating out of T2, T3, and T5 (AFAIK), so they'll need the T2/T3/T5 shuttle then.

Perhaps it's for Hawaiian Airlines connections? As in a Hawaiian arrival, connecting to Delta?

My "grossly exaggerated" comment were some of the long times you mentioned, like re-checking bags, not the bus movements.

Also, found a LAWA press release about move dates.

LAWA PDF Press Release

I've added the dates to the top of the Wiki. Delta will be all complete effective May 13th? Or is that just the start date? We'll see...

It's just the start date. DL will be moving over in pieces until May 17th.

Why would they run a shuttle bus to connect to AS when AS won't be a frequent flyer or codeshare partner at that point? And AS won't be in T5 anyway.

I forget what the parameters were but I think I remember seeing DL.com offering a mixed AS/DL itinerary as recently as last week for travel beyond 5/1. I might just be hallucinating this memory though, will see if I can replicate it.

"The relocation will begin the night of May 12 and will continue with additional overnight moves on May 14 and May 16, with a scheduled completion of May 17. Delta flights will operate from as many as four terminals (2, 3, 5 and 6) on certain days of the move, "

The partnership ends May 1. Doesn't mean DL won't still be booking tickets with AS, just not as a codeshare. There's some destinations that only AS and not goto. Also any existing award reservations are still valid.

Do you believe the T5 shuttle will remain in place? I doubt there are enough DL-AS connecting passengers to justify a shuttle. My interpretation was that this shuttle would only be used during the move week.

I wasn't replying that it was. This reply was based on fact that the post made it seem like after May 1 DL and AS wont be doing any tickets together.

my OP post said I thought it was likely just a temporary shuttle.

Ok. This isn't the DL/AS breakup thread. This is the LAX terminal move thread. We were talking about codeshare details solely for the purpose of understanding the T5 shuttle.

I know what thread it is. Was trying to correct what I viewed as an erroneous assumption. Plus the whole AS/DL thing was raised in regards to LAX move

I don't think DL is any more likely to run shuttles for the benefit of AS-DL connecting passengers after the frequent flyer partnership ends than they are for connections to other inteline partners like UA.

Unlike UA there will still be measurable traffic between AS/DL for a bit. However i also noted in OP that it mught just be a temporary shuttle till things settle.

Definitely not. Hawaiian and Delta are in direct competition for LAX-Hawaii, so they are not going to be selling connections between each other.
