Right. Because the first rule of the super secret 360 Club is you will be removed if you post any photos of the diamond studded, computer chip card.

Well...it's not me either...at least not yet. Still don't know what is in the package at the house from DL but I had a long chat this evening with my buddy at DL about the new program and while he was unfortunately able to confirm that I wasn't invited, he was able to provide some insights into the trial run period.

Apparently, for this initial roll out, DL did not exclusively focus on the ultra high spenders. They worked to invite a 'random' mix of the top tier DMs with 'geographical equity.' He says they tried to limit invites to those located in ATL or with minimal connections through ATL as this is one of the prime sites for car service between gates, previously referred to as Porsche pickup. Obviously, Atlantans have little need for this service and it is an exceptionally DM-rich/HVC region where they couldn't invite everyone. The initial focus is not, he says, on creating a higher 'tier' (and he says he is anti-tier terminology...he mentioned repeatedly that this was not intended to add an additional tier but to 'enhance services' provided to certain HVCs). The trial period is also focused on testing DL's system capacity to ensure that they can successfully implement this come 2014.

Interestingly, he claims that the 'average' DM will never notice that special services are being provided to some FFs. He described these 360 services as 'invisible' to the day-to-day flier. He says this should not impact UG percentages, or any of the other advertised benefits of the medallion program as, once fully rolled out, the folks that will be invited will be the ones at the top of the pile anyway. He also added that while the trial period is scheduled to run through February 2014, he doesn't anticipate the rest of us will get invites until probably mid to late 2014 once DL has had the chance to crunch the numbers and assess the impact the trial period has had. Once that happens, he expects that there will be some in this initial rollout that may be dropped from the program but those that spend in the top 5%, give or take, will likely be the ones receiving invites plus some lower spend DMs who buy high price full J tickets exclusively (this is, not surprising, the direction that DL wants to chase, embrace and pamper so that hopefully they will spend even more with the airline).

He also added folks at DL continue to be more than mildly amused at FT discussions. He said that in some internal meetings that 360 was jokingly referred to as the FT project/FT medallion, etc.

While I am in no way DYKWIA, I was highly looking forward to being the first to be able to post a 360 card/credential/website shot...will have to wait for me.

Unlike the rest of us, who received one only metaphorically, perhaps your package contains an actual rock.

I can confirm that this is more or less what I've been briefed on as well. Emphasis on no hard spend amount, rather the top x% of customers by revenue. People need to stop repeating this $50K number as 360 criteria.

Any educated guesses out there on what spend would put one in the top 5% or so of revenue?

I had my wife go ahead and open it...it's an investor prospectus...poor timing to show up in the mail when DL was rumored to be sending out 360 invites!

Ticket prices on any given city pair are skewed, though, with more results on the lower end than on the higher one.
One could say that mean=DL average RASM if it were normally distributed, but we don't know that, and even if we did, we don't know sigma.
I think it could be seen more as a binomial distribution myself with one node (average discounted Y buyers) comprising a larger percentage of flyers, with a second (last minute Y buyers, those who always buy F) in the second.

No one has stated that 50K is the criteria. I used it as simply an example of where the top percentage of flyers could fall. I base this on the unpublished, but completely accurate requirement to spend 50K minimum to remain a GS member on UA. Nothing more than speculation for sure, but that's what this whole thread is about. No reason to set your hair on fire over it.

I still believe $50k MQD's will have you in the top 1% of Delta travelers, that's north of 75K retail send and in todays economy, a lot of money on travel.

So I finally found the 360 business card that I was handed while being escorted between gates in MSP.

Like I said before, this happened over a month ago and I wish I would have asked more questions. Maybe I will know more in the future, but as of now this is all I have.

So the folks at DL are "more than mildly amused" by our FT discourse... why do I not find that amusing?

Not really a surprise - it has been clear to many, that within DL management, we are a pain in the rear...... and view upon, at least somewhat, with disdain.

If one ever questioned "us vs. them" mentality, this pretty much confirms it.

Pain in the rear may not even be the best description. My contact at DL is often very respectful of the contributors here and the data that they are able to mine from FT without needing to pay to host their own focus groups. I take this more recent comment at no more than face value that they get a kick out of these discussions and get some enjoyment knowing that they are thinking of this board when they are considering "enhancements" to SMs.

I view this a lot less negatively. Delta reads the forums and gets input. Whats wrong with some employees sitting around enjoying the speculation.
