I'm based in Bangkok, so maybe it's different for non-USA address? I didn't ask for anything, just sent the complaint via online customer complaints.
I still think comp was very generous, but all told, it was about 3 hours (I didn't hit the upgrade from SEA-MSP, first time miss as PM) without any water, etc. since I very literally ran to the gate and just made the flight = 1 hour before landing, the 1 hour wait, the run to the gate + wait for any service. Well, it isn't a life-threatening thing! but it was annoying, I complained, and they were generous. Delta, keeps winning my business with things like this. Not always perfect, but excellent response.

My brother (FO) wrote in and complained about a CHS-ATL flight not having the PTVs turned on. He got 3,700 miles.

7,500 SM - Boarding a flight to JFK
http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/delta...l#post17977883
Per my comment in this thread, I'd emailed in separate comments regarding this incident and whether or not DM in Y get FastTrack cards (sometimes, it's been yes, sometimes not).
I did not really expect miles...did not seem merited, even with the kettle boarding frenzy...

Last week..................
$400.00 for VDB on LAX - MSP and then onto LGA. i got the non-stop LAX-JFK the next morning and was put in J, bypassing the UG list. Plus, a night at the Hilton, since LAX-MSP was the last flight out. Oh yeah, I only bid $300.00 on the OLCI kiosk, so it worked out rather well for me.

7,500 miles for broken overhead entertainment
NRT-DTW. Overhead movie was broken for over two hours. Complained on Delta.com. A month later, still no reply.
Then asked DeltaAssist about it. After a few Tweets, DA put 7,500 on my account.

I try for most companies I spend decent $$ with (sorry, no fast food surveys), to fill out the survey if asked to give positive or negative, or both, feedback, because in my business it's important for me. So every time DL asks me to, I oblige, sometimes stating "everything was ok, not bad, not great", and that's that.
However, my flight last week 1 segment was just bad (rude FA, mechanical delay, leaving a 20 minute connection from A to E in ATL), and the next segment was great (FA went above and beyond), and I wanted to point out the difference. Got an email back saying thanks for telling us, and here's 4K miles. I'm assuming it was for the mechanical delay, but I was surprised.

7500 miles for spouse and myself for AVOD outage on an A330 for the entire flight from HNL-ATL. The GA's let us know the system was non-functional when the aircraft arrived, but didn't offer any amenity packs.

Great compensation
My DL 107 FRA-JFK on Feb 19 was cancelled when metal was diverted to DUB due to a broken transponder. I was rebooked through DTW and lost my EC exit row seat on DL 107 and placed in a coach aisle seat. I hate the aisle and can't possibly fly in a regular coach seat so I made my displeasure known to multiple GA. Finally, the ground customer service supervisor got me in the bulkead middle seat but blocked the rest of the row for me so I could sleep. This was great customer service- so I wrote Delta to praise his work. Got 9500 miles for my comments. Wrote again asking when I could expect the 40 dollar refund of the unused EC seat and got another 10K miles.
These two bonus exceeded miles flown and 100% GM bonus. Thanks Delta.

40K miles in comp for an intl award ticket IRROPS leading to 25 hr delay on returning home and J to Y downgrade on domestic segments combined with 5 day baggage delay after arrival. Took a heck of a lot of wrangling - too much IMHO.
