I got picked up in the Porsche late this afternoon. A flight delay on the inbound Out of MSY caused me to have a very short connection time in ATL to catch my flight to AUS. I sent out a tweet to see if I could get picked up in the Porsche to catch my flight but the response was that it may may not happen.

As soon as I got off the plane on A Concourse I was greeted by Kevin, who was gonna escort me to my AUS connection but it had already left. They rerouted me to SAT instead, got a meal voucher and Keven drove me to the B Concourse SkyClub (B25).

(Backstory: I won the Delta Skymiles auction for the Habitat For Humanity trip to China last year and Kevin was my driver while I was in ATL for the trip orientation. It was nice to see him again . )

Happened to me on Mar 7. Arriving in ATL from DTW, Delta person with sign at the plane door got 3 of us, one going to parking, one to a rental car, and me to baggage claim. Cayenne waiting at the bottom of the jetway stairs. Cool.

The other guy from ATL was on the same PVG-DTW flight with me. In chatting, found that we both have been flying Delta since the terminal was where the Delta HQ is now.

Yes- You have to be Kryptonium Medallion!

Delta Picking up in a White Minivan?

Tuesday evening was sitting in the A concourse SC before flying out and noticed as a plane parked at one of the gates viewable from the SC, there were 2 Porsches and a white mini van parked next to the plane. From the SC view, couldn't see anyone deplane and descend down the stairs from the jetway but all 3 vehicles pulled off at the same time. Wondering if anyone else has seen this? Does it require being a high value tin medallion to be picked up in the white mini van?

White minivan could've been for a crew member (or several) that had extremely tight connections. DL will sometimes move them between concourses via the vans in order to ensure their next flight does not go out late (or later than it already is).

Delta Elite Services Team - Got the ride in the Porche (Atlanta)

Hats off to the Delta Elite Services Team in Atlanta!!!! Karen was waiting for me when I got off the plane from LAS at 12:40pm today (6:30 am flight - LAS>ATL). She had a sign with my name and another person. We followed her down the steps to the tarmac and to a waiting Porche SUV. She drove us to our cars parked in Gold lot. Saved me about 30 minutes in time. Whole process was >7 minutes. Karen indicated that this is a pilot program and they hope to roll out to other cities in the next 6 months. She was able to drive us to local hotels, car rentals, or parked cars. She thank me kindly for being a valued Diamond and shook my hand. Also gave me a brown business card with ELITE SERVICES TEAM and "Thank you for your loyalty to Delta Air Lines" on it. It has an email address as well.

This was one welcome surprise esp coming off of a long night at the airport (gave up my seat at 12:30am for $400 voucher and first class seat on 6am flight).

GREAT JOB DELTA!!!! ^^

Pays to be Diamond!!

I thought that one was about incoming international and connections, not rides to nearby locations off of airport property. This sounds much better than waiting for an airport hotel shuttle, but probably would not work if the passenger had checked luggage.

American Airlines is doing the same thing but in a different fashion. A family member of mine arrived for his connection to China at O'Hare and was greeted by an AA agent with a sign printed with his name and a golf cart ready to whisk him to the First Class lounge to relax pre-departure. He's been a million miler with AA for a while, but this was his first experience with this level of service. He told me he thinks he hit another level with the Concierge Key program. I'm not sure on that, but great job all around by AA and Delta.

Got my Porsche Last Night

I was inbound from PHX to ATL last night and as I left the aircraft, there was a a Delta rep with my name on the sign. He said Mr. Slechta77, blah blah blah Porsche Blah Blah Blah Porsche... To that I said, lets get the heck out of here. We hopped into the Cayenne S and I figured that he would just take me to the T-gate or to the offsite parking shuttles, but he took me all the way to my car door at the Parking Spot.

Nice Touch Delta, great way to end the evening.
