Unlike all other 767 versions Delta has, there isn't a lavatory set near the over-wing exits (because they are near the 2nd set of doors).

*Note: This configuration is used inclusive on SEA-PVG, ATL-LOS. It also frequently works SEA-ATL to provide rotation. These aircraft do cover flights to Europe All 36J seats will be sold because it has a crew rest module installed. Also, the Y seats are the older ones like the 777 with the older IFE system (only 767-300ER type with that, all others are the newer seats/system).
**All retired 6/30/2020 due to COVID-related fleet simplifications

What DL is believed to do is put all flights with 26J as the 76Z Version 2 configuration and then change it to 76Z Version 1 closer to departure as needed. If you select 20-21CDE when it is 76Z Version 2 and it changes to 76Z Version 1, it should seat you in 13-14CDE considering that 20-21CDE doesn't exist on the configuration it changed to. All other seats are numbered the same regardless of Version 1 or 2, although there may be minor differences such as row 20 being an exit row on Version 1.

I'm looking to book BE award tix LAX-BOD for May or June 2013. Looking to book in the next 30 or 40 days. I'd prefer to be on Delta from the states to Paris as I hear the AF biz seats are not great....any thoughts on which routing I should choose if I hope for an updated 767 over the ocean? SLC, MSP or ATL seem to be the award options coming up. Would anyone suggest taking the AF 380 flight from LAX as a better option?

Certainly. I'm not a big fan of AF's angled business seats but 2 segments vs. 3 is compelling LAX-BOD, especially when one gets a nice long segment for sleeping eastbound.

I'm actually more of a fan of shorter flights and more connections. I just don't like being in a plane for 10 or 12 hours...esp on an inferior product. That said, SLC to Paris would be almost as long and if on upgraded equipment would be lay flat for the long haul---in which case I might actually sleep. I'll never forget the 12 hours from TLV-JFK in the 763 in BE that I was awake the entire ride for. . . . So...anyone know anything about schedule of roll out?

Inferior is the key word when it comes the DL's offering on the SEA/SLC to CDG. I have also had the unhappy pleasure to fly the "Ghetto Bird" to NRT although I hear that it might have been changed out.

My last trip was SEA/CDG in April on the Ghetto Bird, while we had good service the business class attendants spent par t of their time apologizing for broken seats, etc. All said they were embarrassed !

Sorry, but Ghetto Bird is a United forum term for widebodies with domestic first seating, especially loathed on international routes.

Yes I am well aware of them!! I used it as it seem only fitting that the old 763's that DL is using reflect the name Ghetto Bird. I am entitled to my opinion especially the amount of miles I fly and pay the higher end of fares.

it's been a while since SFO was last brought up.

i've decided to hit my first ever PM status with a week long mini-break from SFO to asia around labor day. shopping around for flights, KE is only $65 more than DL on coach, and during this time, it looks like DL's plane will still be the old 767, anyway. last i remember flying on something similar was for ATL-PRG 2 years ago, and it wasn't very good.

i guess i'll be having bibimbap as my celebratory meal

anyone have news on when SFO will get the updated 767s?

i have been complaining about that a long time as well ! As soon as they took NWA all the AB's were taken east and the old Ghetto Birds moved west!

Even in Seattle a local reporter wrote a piece in the paper about DL's actions.

For whatever reason they left one lonely AB on the PDX-AMS ROUTE

Don't forget the one on SEA-AMS. AMS is predominantly Airbus as it allows for greater flexibility in scheduling and less spare parts need to be kept around. Not to mention AMS was familiar with the A330 from Northwest

Trip Planning MEM AMS

I have booked MEM AMS on Aug 6. I know chances of lie flat seating are low, but is there any way to know ahead of time whether or not the aircraft will be one of those that have been reconfigured? If not, which seats would be the best for getting some rest? Thanks in advance.

Welcome to FT!

Sorry but you will not get the true lie-flats and you need something like Ambien to sleep for more than 30 minutes on the old 763 recliners.

SLC flights have not started showing the new seats. It is a very long segment, but might be one of the last routes to get the lie flats just because there is no competition on the route.

By the time next summer rolls around it might, but you won't know that now.

Maybe someone else thinks/knows differently.
